Our first step from the lobby into the courtyard told us that of all the romantic places we have been, the Kenwood Inn is truly special. Little gardens of fruit trees, flowers, jasmine and lavender separated by rosemary hedges; overgrown walkways leading to fountains, bluebirds and robins singing overhead.
We thought about eating elsewhere but somehow couldn't leave The Kenwood Inn. We were not disappointed - dinner by a fireplace outside in the courtyard with a kind and caring staff, who always make us feel special, and then a champagne bubble bath for two in a jetted tub with lavender and candlelight…
In the morning, we awoke to the sounds of bluebirds singing from the fruit trees and the trickling water flowing from the fountains below our window which overlooks the Kunde vineyards. After relaxing in the hot tub, we would walk through the lush gardens to the courtyard for a cup of espresso and pastries which literally melt in your mouth.
Oh, did we mention the bottle of port always open in the sitting room off the lobby.
Can’t wait to visit again.
