We were only in Sihanoukville for one day on a cruise, but decided to eschew the ship's tours for one provided by the students and the Don Bosco Hotel school--we are so glad we did! Our enthusiastic guide and two students met us at the cruise ship, took us to see the fishing village, the waterfall (kind of disappointing in dry season, but probably inaccessible during rainy season), to their gelateria for a snack, to the local market, and to the hotel school for a Khmer cooking demonstration and a lovely lunch. It was such fun. Alex, the volunteer chef, and his students prepared a lovely meal with French service, and we had live vocal and guitar music to entertain us. If you are going to be in Sihanoukville--which is a port that is impoverished and lacking in infrastructure, a visit to the Don Bosco school and tour arranged through them is sure to leave you with a smile. Highly recommended.More
