“Home away from home”

Can not stay anywhere else in Sihanoukville. If you do not feel like lounging about on the balcony and enjoying the view, it is a short walk to independence beach (best beach in Sihanoukville IMO), which is where we spent most of our time. If for any reason reason you do need to go into town though, there is a trusted network of tuk-tuk drivers available to the guesthouse, just a phone call away. The guesthouse itself is also in immaculate condition, with the rooms and garden being meticulously maintained.

All of the above are great reasons to stay here, but the main reasons are Simon and Pushpa! I would not even call them friends, I consider them family. They have not only made sure that everything in the guesthouse is perfect, but they have also made sure that they have personally tried the activities that they recommend, the restaurant options that are available and even the other beaches and islands.

We stayed for 2 weeks, and our hearts broke when we got into the taxi to leave, but we are very excited about the fact that we will be seeing Simon and Pushpa soon again.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms with access to the balcony are to die for.

There's isn't much more that can be said about this amazing guest house which hasn't already been said.
For our 3rd trip to Cambodia, we thought we should try Sihanoukville, having given it a miss the other times. As I had read negative comments about Serendipity area, we decided to stay at the Clearwater Guest House near Independence Beach.
Within minutes of arriving, we knew we had made the right decision, and wished we had booked for longer than the three nights.
We were shown to one of the Orchid rooms ( absolutely fantastic) which shares a very large airy balcony area with other rooms on the same floor, which Pusha has furnished with reclining chairs.
It's only a five minute walk to the beach, where there a dozen or so shacks serving fantastic seafood (Sinas deserves a review of its own, will do one shortly). White sandy beach, blue sea as warm as walking into a bath ( I want to return as I'm writing this, and only landed in uk yesterday!)
Pushpa and her partner Simon are the perfect hosts. From the moment we arrived until the time we left ( first time I have ever felt emotional saying goodbye to hosts!), we felt like had made new friends
We had come to Sihanoukville expecting it to be our first and last time, but we are now planning on returning to Clearwater next year, hopefully for quite a bit longer
Clearwater close for the monsoon, which must be the only reason they are not number 1 on Tripadvisor, reading the reviews of other guests who have all had the same stroke of luck to choose Clearwater for their stay.
Thank you Pusha and Simon, we can't wait to return!
Nanette & David

Room Tip: Orchid rooms are in the main house and are large and airy

Simon and Pushpa, are the most attentive and helpful hosts I have ever met. Your stay is personal to them and they want to make sure everything can be as smooth as possible.
Clearwater GH is situated near to Independence beach. Approx 10 mins walk. Although a good way from downtown, Clearwater is actually well located within Sihanoukville, which is quite spread out. Hawaii and Victory beaches are only a short ride away, as is Victory Hill. Access to Downtown and the central beach area is easy. Simon or Pushpa have several reliable and regular Tuk-Tuk drivers who they will call for you. The Tuk-Tuks arrive within 10 mins. Ten mins later you will be at the Golden Lions. $3 one -way.
The GH is located in a quiet area and is within a secure boundary. The GH is well cared for and clean.
My room #7, was adequately sized with a double bed, Tv, electric shower with good pressure, air-con and fan, some wardrobe storage which has a lockable security box built in.
There is a small breakfast of cereals, yoghurt, toast and either hard boiled or scrambled eggs. With tea, coffee and orange juice.
Simon and Pushpa will give you lots of advice and general help in organizing your days. From motorbike hire to the must do boat trip.
Wifi is also available and was pretty quick.
Thanks again. Excellent service with a smile and care.

Spent 10 nights here in february 2014. Service was really wonderful! Thanks Pushpa and Simon, they did everething for us, so we felt like at home. Clear Water located in a very quite place, little bit far from the city center, but it was good for us. Every time we wanted to go to the city, Pushpa call a tuk-tuk. It costs only $6 to go to the golden lions and back to the hotel.
The way to the beach is about 10 minutes by walk. Beach is very clean and quite. We took chaise-longues at the "Sina 4" cafe - very nice place with really good food.
It's a pity that 5 - is the highest possible rating. I would bet 6 if I could :)
We wish Pushpa and Simon good luck in their business and only good guests! Thank you very much and sorry for lost keys. Hope to come back to "Clear Water" next year! :)

We stayed at this guesthouse for two nights and even though it was such a short stay, Simon and Pushpa really helped to make it such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and in a great location, away from the busy and over touristed main area. Only a couple of minutes walk to independence beach which was beautiful and quiet with a great beach restaurant called Sinas (I think that's the name). Thanks to Pushpa, who did all the last minute calling, we managed to get on an already overbooked boat trip to the beautiful Koh Rong Samloen. If you were keen to head to the main area, the guesthouse has a couple of reliable tuk tuk drivers that offer really affordable return trips, which made life so easy - as a lot of drivers there have a habit of ripping tourists off. But probably what made the biggest difference, was how both Pushpa and Simon treated us like family - they were up for a chat at every time of the day, organised a super early breakfast for us, and made us feel safe in every way possible. So if you're looking for somewhere really genuine within a town full of terrible party driven tourists - this is for you.

Spent two nights here and we're made to feel incredibly welcome. Everything was explained for getting into and out of the town, tips on where to eat, and even helped us to find a place to stay on the islands when we left. The beach near by is only a 5 minute walk and really clean and quiet, a few good local places to eat during the day and evening, we sampled number 4, "Sina's" which had great food.
