A great day trip to truly deserted islands.
Owner Liam was there to see us off and explain itinerary. Normally he says he'd accompany the boat but we had the boat to ourselves (just the two of us) so he left us to it!
After sailing for, ooh, half an hour or so we weighed anchor and snorkelled among some coral. I also did a spot of fishing - I caught a few, but the local deckhand was pulling out a fish every minute.
As it was Chinese New Year we couldn't lunch at the floating village, but instead we had fresh seafood cooked on the beach by our boat captain - probably a better option anyway.
The afternoon was filled with more swimming, snorkelling, and lazing, but we also had a guided hike across one of the islands where we sampled fruits and berries straight off the vine. We also brought some freshly picked papaya back to the "camp" for a snack (dipping salt & papaya - great combo).
All in all a very relaxing day and it was a disappointment to return to the (relative) hustle of Sihanoukville!
Oh, and the music on the boat was good too - a mix of mellow lounge, dub, and non-hippy world music. Nice soundtrack to the day.
Bring: sun cream, swim trunks, a hat (I forgot), footwear for the trek. Food and drink is provided.
