Having moved from a very good hotel in Kampot
We arrived at this place!!
We chose this mainly for the pool and also as its a " newish place"
When we arrived I saw the dreaded Chinese influence
This normally means problems
Yes this place looks great , just up the road approx 10 min walk from the action
Funny position of reception!!
Generator directly in front of reception!!
First thing we noticed was a very slight smell which we couldn't make out!
All rooms are " Suites" that means you enter the first room which has a solid wood table a chairs
in this rather barren room also sits a large fridge
The walls are tiled up to approx 4foot ( typical Chinese style)
On the wall is a large flat screen tv
If you wish to use tv you must sit on the hard wood chairs in this room I can only describe as a "cell"
Adjoining this is a area with a sink and a cold water tap and tiled work top
Absolutely no use to us or most travellers, but good for storing the luggage
The bedroom is next!
Two large divans quiet comfy, but no bedside cabinets, again tiled!
In the corner was the "wardrobe "!!!!!!!
I can only describe it as some form of cake display stand on castors!!( see photo )
Aircon was inefficient , hence the additional wall fan
All sockets and light switches are at least 4 foot above the floor due to the tiling I presume?
The bathroom had an actual bath! But was small ! And the general layout was all wrong!
If you stood in the bath the shower unit was just outside the bathing area and also the highest the shower head was when in its holder was chest level!
You had to lean and stoop!
But no sun loungers????
Just hard chairs
Also all of the windows were badly fitted and rattled when it got breezy , annoying after a while
The rate for this place is $30 a night
Would I stay again ??
NO ! It's o.k, for one night until you find something that's got some "soul" as this place is a bit weird
But I did say "the Chinese influence "!!!
