The only negative I could possibly come up with is that it's a 5-7 minute walk to the beach...woop-ti-doo! no big deal!
The staff here is so charming, friendly and joking, and helpful in all ways possible! I found the food to be a little higher (Moonflower is quite removed from town), so I had my own Muesli and yoghurt in the mornings-- for which they most readily supplied the hot water, bowl, plate, and spoon. I used their moto-driver to go into town for the Vietnamese visa, going to Market, grocery shopping, massage, and evening meals. He is a sweet young man, learning to be more confident is negotiating his fees.
The room was cleaned daily -- if one asked for it when turning in the key--with fresh towels, complimentary water, and toiletries.
The staff was totally dependable and helpful in arranging island tours as well as travel necessities. If I had known and trusted the process, I would have GLADLY let them take care of 'guiding' the processing of my Vietnamese Visa-- it would've beat my having to make two trips into town..... however, this did also give me occasion to get shopping done.
I LOVED staying at Moonflower! I had extended my time there from 2 to 6 nights, and then had to leave due to expiring visa.
I absolutely, no holes barred, strongly and highly recommend Moonflower Bungalows and Hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms are a less expensive option to Bungalows.

The best mid range accommodation in  Sihanoukvile nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town and within a stone's throw of Sihanokville's nicest beach stretching between otres 1 and otres 2.

We stayed here for 10 nights and both rooms we stayed in (5 and 8) were very pleasant and  immaculately clean, each with its own fridge/mini bar. Clean towels ( incl. free beach towels - ask for these at the reception) and complimentary water were provided every day, which was a very pleasant surprise considering we only paid $20 a night.

Paul the receptionist is a pleasure to deal with. He's friendly and honest and does a great job processing all the requests (organizing tuk tuks, tours, laundry). When he found out the our fishing trip, which we'd booked through the hotel, was not quite as advertised he called the tour operator and negotiated a discount for us.

The food in the in house cafe, though very tasty (the seafood pizza was yummy), was a bit too expensive for our backpackers' wallets. Luckily, only 200m from the hotel (on the left) we found a nice family run restaurant-cum-shop that offers really decent food for very little money.

Our only complaint about this place would be a somewhat slow and inconsitent wifi connection in the room, other than that we loved it!!!

We stayed at the Moonflower for 5 nights over new years in the family bungalow. We liked it so much that we decided to book in 5 more nights in January.
the accommodation is a few minutes walk to a nice area of beach between otres 1 and 2. if you want to walk to either of these beaches and bar areas then it takes around 10-15 minutes or $2 in a tuk tuk.
The location was perfect for us as we were close enough to enjoy the action on the beach when we wanted to, but far away enough to have a really sound nights sleep and chill out back at the hotel when we we needed a break.
the food, hotel rooms and services such as laundry are very reasonably priced and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
The best thing about the accommodation is Paul, the guy who works on the front desk and in the restaurant. He went out of his way to help us with everything we needed, from organising tuk tuks and making phone calls to bus companies to getting us mosquito coils when we wanted to sit on our balcony in the evening. He gave us the best service we have had anywhere in Cambodia and we were sad to say goodbye to him!
Overall I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Beautiful layout with a friendly atmosphere.
10/10!

thank you!
Sarah and Brian

New bungalows and hotel located about 7 minute walk from center of Otres beach. once you get to the beach you are about equal distance to Otres 1 or 2... About 10 minute walk on the beach. Otres 1 is a bit busier but you can't go wrong as they are both chilled beautiful beaches with tons of food and lounge chairs to relax. You can't do much about the touts aside from a firm no but compared to the others beaches it's heaven.
We stayed in the bungalows and they are comfortable new with flush toilets, really hot water, fans plus AC. We didn't stay in the hotel but they look modern and clean. there is a market close along with some stores out front for personal items and standard fare. The staff that we had were very friendly and Paul speaks good English. The Italians next door at Carpe Diem make great pasta and breakfast if you need a change... Great people.
Word of advice... If you plan on walking back at night bring a torch .. We paid 2$ for a tuk tuk back which you may get cheaper but it's only 2$.
