The Good:
- The view out the front porch is amazing and relaxing to see the river bend and the green banks on the other side.
- It's nice to chat with other fellow travelers in the common areas. Helpful they print guest names and where they're from on a list at the front desk.
- The breakfast is darn good. I'm not a pancake fan usually, but theirs are fantastic.
- The dinners are darn good, especially for out in the middle of nowhere.

The stuff I didn't care for:
- The building is old (some call it charm). No real screen on the windows, so bugs can get in at times. The walls are a bit thin also.
- It got pretty warm in our room at night. All you can do is pump up the whirling ceiling fan above your bed.
- The barking dog next door can an issue, but that's beyond their control.
- The dining room can get really really loud when it's full of dinner guests all talking on the weekends. I couldn't wait to get outta there.
- The internet connection is very spotty.
- Didn't care for some of the dinner courses, but you have no choice, so suck it up, but still pay the big bucks.
- Not cheap to stay and eat here.

Part of our family vacation was a visit to the Redwood National Park. I found out that the Redwood National Park was comprised of multiple state parks and the national park. We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfasts were great and very filling. Didn't really feel like having lunch because of the amount of breakfast we had. They also serve dinner. The dinners were the type of fine dining you usually only find in larger cities. If you are visiting the redwoods a stay at the Requa Inn would be a very good choice.

We have stayed here several times with a change of innkeepers/owners. It is still the same quality, better coffee, breakfast is still excellent. Although they were out of yogurt for two days as we stayed for two nights (no yogurt for breakfast) the apple wood smoked bacon was excellent and thick slabs of bacon with great flavor! the homemade whole wheat bread was very good. The dinner this time was good but not as good as last year's, when we came a year ago. It was just an accident, the smoker in the inn, burned down in flames as we looked out from our room, so maybe the smoked trout wasn't available as the appetizer as listed on the dinner menu. They should have subbed something else, maybe a salad which would have made the duck entrée which was excellent, a better value.
We will be back sometime in the future, as they have excellent fresh salmon when it is in season.

Loved everything about this inn. The ambience, the location, the staff, the food, the hiking, the people we met there were very interesting. I think the inn attracts special people for some reason. If you go be sure to eat there so you can sit and visit with other patrons; that part I really enjoyed.

Again, I have to say we didn't even go inside to stay, dine, or take in a view. BUT we wish we had had time to stay at least one night. Driving through the Klamath River Overlook as part of Redwoods National Park - we saw whales, awesome birds, seals, and sea lions from the trails, and of course fishermen and a very rustic, low key, beautiful setting. When we came upon the hotel we were so bummed we hadn't stayed. We will next time!

Our stay here was a highlight on our drive from San Diego to Vancouver B.C.It had been recommended to us but we did not know what to expect given its unprepossessing appearance. It still has an old lodge feel(which it is) with rustic but comfortable rooms. The lounge area looks over the river as does the dining room where we had on outstanding meal...the best on our trip.Would highly recommend this place and look forward to staying there again.

This historic property is well run and well maintained. Our room was actually a pair of rooms separated by a bath which worked great for our luggage since each room separately was small. The bed was comfortable and the common areas spacious with a beautiful view out over the mouth of the Klamath river. Breakfast was expansive with plenty of choices (including a great smoothie even if it was green!).
