“River Solitude”
Reviewed 16 September 2012

This place is absolutely gorgeous. We checked out other RV parks nearby and they weren't nearly as nice. We upgraded to a river spot - $5 more a night, but so worth it. Each morning, fog hung over the river and across the mountain tops. We took our kayaks out early mornings before the winds picked up, and the water was very calm and there was hardly a current. We saw tons of salmon jumping and a family of seals playing right near us. Another couple we talked to said they kayaked out to the ocean - it took them 4 hours to get there and back. There's a Coastal hike trailhead up the road a couple miles. We hiked to Fern Canyon at nearby Prairie Creek Redwoods and it was the highlight of our trip. Trees of Mystery is also a few minutes up the road.

Very special place, definetly the prettiest setting we experienced on our 19 day RV trip. Sites are a bit close together, we ended up staying an extra night, however our beautiful view was obstructed by the arrival of an RV fr the 2nd night.

Klamath River RV Park is a really pretty spot, right along the Klamath River. Mostly an RV park, but had some tent sites, too. The tent sites are just a grassy area off to one side. You are close to the river, and everyone else in a tent as there are no real ‘defined’ sites for the tents, but pretty far from all the facilities. The RV's looked like they were packed in pretty tight, too. The facilities and grounds are very well kept. Showers are spacious and clean, and they have laundry facilities and a ‘club house’ with games & movies. The campground host onsite was very helpful and friendly. There is a big firepit in a large open area right by the river and adirondack chairs all over the place to sit and enjoy the scenery. There are horseshoe pits, but you have to pay for the WIFI. It looked like they had organized activities, but we were just staying one night, so i don't know what they were like.

This rv park is situated on the shores of the Klamath River and has a great view of the river and wildlife. We were able to see Black bears, Bald eagles, American Eagles, and much more wildlife. The campground was clean and the staff was outstanding. Our only complaint was that the trailers spaces were placed close to each other. We stayed here in our fifth wheel trailer.

We stayed here in a travel trailer the second week of July 2012. The park was very pretty with green grass covering everything. No concrete pads, you pull right on the grass. They have a large open area along the river to enjoy. They also had plastic adirondack chairs around to relax and take in the view. The kids loved the little playground. The laundry room and showers were nice and clean. We paid $2 a day for WIFI. Most parks have that for free now, so didn't like that. It seemed that as RVs came in the management would put them spaced away from other people, as to not crowd RVs upon RVs. But.... being summer and a heavy travel season the spots did fill up and then the big diesel pushers with all their slide outs seemed very crowded and close together, but at least they all had the river view out their front windshield :) The park also had a handful of very nice tent spots. We saw cyclist come in, pitch a tent and then pack up and leave in the morning...great location and facility for that.

We stayed here this past week and it was one of the nicest parks we have been in. The views are amazing. It is very quiet. The park is immaculate and the attendents are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park to anyone visiting this area or just passing through.

Your cameras best shots on your vacation will be right from your campsite. This RV park is right on the banks of the Klamath River with a vista that belongs on a calendar. Whether it is the early morning mists above the river or the sunsets on the pine covered slopes, you will be awestruck with the beauty around you. Not only were there salmon in the river but a mother whale and her calf stayed in a deep pool right in front of the campground and provided an incredible whale viewing opportunity. Campground was very quiet and well taken care of. Showers were clean and the grounds were landscaped beautifully. The community fire pit was lit every night and all seemed to appreciate the tranquility of this campground. Dogs are expected to be on perfect behavior so if you have a barker please do everyone a favor and keep driving down the road. Park was very centrally located for perfect daytime touring to redwoods and coast. Be warned this RV park will spoil you.
