I read many reviews for this B&B before I booked; they were all 5-stars. A week before our planned trip I checked back and there was one 3-star review. After our stay, I have to agree 100% with the 3-star reviewer! We were in Room #7, a 2-bedroom suite. Only 1-bedroom had an ocean view. The other faced the street with constant road noise and construction that started every morning at 7am. The bedrooms were minimally furnished, just a queen bed, TV, and 2-night stands with lamps. No chair or dresser. Breakfast was a joke, a Keurig machine, yogurt/granola and cold store bought muffins in the 'office'. The property is comparable to a Residence Inn. I expected much more of this property since it has the same owners as the Surf and Sand in Laguna Beach, which is lovely.

The location is perfect, you can walk to town or cross the street to the beach. The rooms are clean and well appointed, we were checking in late so the staff put some bottles of water in the refrigerator for us which was a nice touch. On the downside the walls in our room were super thin. We could hear almost the entire conversation of the gentlemen next door into the night. I could also tell you exactly when they awoke based on the noise. The place and location are so nice it didn't bother us tremendously, and the rate was very affordable for the location, but I would recommend if you are a light sleeper you ask for one of their rooms that may not share a wall or is more isolated.

So much to do, or so little to do, but this is a great place to make home base during your stay in the area. Awaken to the sound of the ocean, enjoy a pastry and coffee, walk down along the water up to Brockton Villa for Coast Toast, meander back along the shops, pick up a bottle of wine and nibbles, return to the Inn and enjoy the treats up on the balcony, walk across the street to watch the sunset, and retire for the evening with a warm fire in the room!

Room Tip: ocean view and fireplace a must

It's a bit motel style, but the rooms are nice (ours had a fireplace which was awesome during our winter stay), and the location is perfect. Walk across the street to sit on the cliffs and take in one of the coastal views in the region. The breakfast is very basic and served in a tiny office, but it worked for us. I would stay here again.

This inn on the shores of La Jolla is in the perfect location for fantastic beachfront views! Our unit had a kitchenette, which was very handy for cooking during the holidays. Our ocean view suite was gorgeous, with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom with 2 sinks. The hospitality was amazing, with the manager helping us carry all our luggage to our second floor suite, and being very friendly and helpful every day. Although the street is busy during the day, it is very quiet and peaceful in the evenings. We plan to return next year!

Room Tip: Room #14 (our room) has most spectacular view!
