“Perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We spent three wonderful nights at this delightful B&B. Perfect location to restaurants and shops we cannot recommend it too highly. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast is at nine o’clock each morning by candlelight and a delicious three course meal that changes each day. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting to other guests and as the only English couple exchanged information about respective our countries.
Thank you everyone for such a welcoming and pleasant stay!

Breakfast is indeed a time to share and make new friends from all over the world. This is one of the wonderful benefits of the Bed and Breakfast experience, and where better to share it than in beautiful La Jolla by the Sea. Glad you had a wonderful time and hope to see you again soon.

My husband and I needed a getaway from work and this was ideal. We had the chance to walk along the beach in the evenings and go kayaking in the day. The food was sensational and Margaret was a delight. I highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: No fitness center, but took a walk outside to stay fit. The surroundings are gorgeous, just a bloc...

Thank you for your reveiw. We are, as you say, ideally located. True we do not have a workout center on site; but the next time you visit with us, and we hope you will, please ask for a VIP card to visit the local workout center just blocks from the inn.

Romantic rooms, that each had a journal for the guests to enter their thoughts in. We read through many of the 10 years of entries in the journals.

Breakfasts were fun, the rooms were calm and quiet, and the view was nice.

We thank you for the review and are pleased to know that some of our guests are reading the n the guest room journals. These journals were started in 1984 and some of the entries are very entertaining. Hope you felt compelled to make an entry as well. Thank you for selecting us for your trip to La Jolla/ San Diego.

My friend and I needed some R&R and booked 3 nights at the Inn after checking the internet for likely places within a day's drive of Tucson. Everything about our stay was perfect, and exactly what we needed. Though we had a small room (getting twin beds anywhere is a challenge) the living area and especially the veranda made the accommodations just right. The quality of service and hospitality was excellent. The large breakfast made lunch unnecessary for us older ladies, and with the wine and cheese at 5, we could schedule a late dinner, allowing for time to stroll the beach at sunset. The amenities at the inn make it both charming and convenient, with many touches that are thoughtful (and delicious in the case of the home-baked shortbread and chocolate chip cookies!) I hope I am able to come again.

Room Tip: The Shores, with twin beds, is small, but the shared veranda is beautiful. No elevator, so pack ligh...

We love to have our neighbors in Arizona visit with us. Many Arizona residents have become our seasonal guests, especially in the summer when Arizona sizzles. Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. Look forward to your return.

My husband and I booked two nights here after coming to California for a family wedding. We needed a few nights to ourselves and we are so happy we chose The Bed and Breakfast Inn at La Jolla. We originally booked the most inexpensive room in the inn, figuring it would be enough for us (small spaces do not bother us & we are ok with "European Style" places such as this) and that it was worth the extra price tag given the location/romantic atmosphere. However, upon arrival we were upgraded to another room at no additional cost by the warm & welcoming manager, Margaret. We were thrilled with the new room and her abundant hospitality. Now, granted we were there mid-week and it wasn't as busy as it probably is on the weekends, but it just goes to show you - hey, never know!

In addition to the promised romantic ambiance, the food and advice from the staff was also a pleasant surprise and worth the price as well. We had a three course breakfast, which included dessert and champagne mimosas. Each room has little glasses for sherry, and wine & cheese is offered every evening from 5-6pm. Parking wasn't an issue for us being there midweek since there were some open spaces in the back (room for 3-4 vehicles), but even so, the staff was very accommodating with tips and suggestions for parking.

Overall, I just can't say enough about this place and the staff. It was absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for. If us two frugal lovebirds could swing it, you can as well! Trust me, it is worth every penny!

Room Tip: Go midweek if at all possible for a more satisfying and intimate experience

Perfect in every way, relaxing, charming and a complete contrast from the hustle and bustle of everyday stressful routines. Would certainly recommend as I will be visiting again in the future with my family.

Such a great find!

This B and B was everything we hoped for and more. It is in a beautiful area within walking distance of the beach, shopping and great restaurants. We loved the inn and area so much we stayed an extra day.

Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We got a three course breakfast every morning and it was all incredible. There were garden and balcony areas that made you forget you were in the city.

We stayed in the Fiesta room, which was beautiful. It had a garden view and huge bath tub. We plan on returning as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Look at the descriptions closely on the website and compabre them to get the feel you want.
