Owner description: It was supposed to be a children's pool, but the harbor seals took over and it's a main tourist and local attraction. Great picture spot.

I visited the Children's Pool last week. The sealions were out soaking up the sun! This is a nice spot to view the sealions and enjoy the sunset.

Those of us who have lives in San Diego all our life's will remember when as a child you folks would bring you here to swim in a very calm water. As you got older you would than snorkel through here. Now, it's closed off and the seals have taken over it. The stench from there fecal matter is so over powering the local restaurants are losing business from the Massive smell. This was a donation to the city with requirements. Unfortunately like everything else we have allowed the courts to control which is not in there power to do. Google the issues about!

Nice place to hang out for a few hours and watch the wildlife. Snorkeling is permitted. A wetsuit (2/3) is recommended. Its also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset.
Please stay away from sea lions, especially the young cubs.
A nearby park can be used for a stroll/pick nick and La jolla downtown is just a few minutes away.
check it out!
It worth visiting for everyone!

Easy access to views of seals swimming and sunning themselves at the beach's edge. Free. A beautiful spot to watch the surf and enjoy the coastal scenery.

It's a great spot to photograph the seals and the breathtaking view of the ocean. However, the walkway has eroded so it is uneven. I saw some litter which made me sad that people would defile this spot and of nature and remind me about callous people. There were many people about and yet it was quiet and peaceful.
