Right on the beach. Fantastic restaurant. Pool. Jacuzzi. Bar staring directly into the Pacific. Brilliant room views of the ocean, palm trees and the morning surfers.

Here's the kicker. They have a hotel shuttle that will take you anywhere you want to go in La Jolla. Don't be a jerk to the drivers. They are not your private chauffeurs. Acknowledge the service and drop em a few bucks. (Make sure you get dropped off for dinner at Nine-Ten in the Grande Colonial and for music in town at Beaumont's.)

This is currently the 6th ranked hotel in La Jolla. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We checked in early (about 1sh) and had a wonderful immaculate oceanfront room on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious with a wonderful view.
We enjoyed walking on the beach as well as watching all the activities in the water, especially the kayak tours and rentals.
The parking was $16 per day and well worth the comfort of security.
Piatti and Osteria Romantica were both very good and within easy walking distance. There was also a small grocery store in the neighborhood, though we preferred to drive to Von's for a larger selection of snacks, wine etc for enjoyment in the room.
The employees were very friendly and the housekeeping was done in a timely manner since we requested it be done early in the morning when we left for the day. There was a Keurig coffemaker and well as a refrigerator.
We were very happy with our choice to stay here and highly recommend it.

This hotel was average as far as the rooms go, but we don't pick based on the room (as long as its decent). But this hotel was right on the beach and right next to Kellogg Park, a large green grass/picnic area with a big playground. Almost all the rooms have a view of the ocean. The room wasn't bad. It was comfortable and had everything basic we needed. Lots of pillows to choose from. Small pool, but wasn't too crowded so it didn't feel like it was too small for us. Hot tub, and little kiddie pool. Also just a short walk from a few restaurants and convenient store. Have to pay for parking at the hotel. Tip: expedia wouldn't let us book through them because they said kids weren't allowed. I called the hotel and kids are most definitely allowed!!!! This is a great hotel to bring kids! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

This is a beautiful property in a great location, right on a beautiful child friendly beach. The rooms are spacious and the views are stunning. Overall a very comfortable place with great staff. The kids are treated very nicely at the hotel, they receive a little souvenir and beach toys which is a small but memorable touch. The only reason why I did not rate it a 5 is because the rooms need some updating. They are very comfortable but quite outdated with old, peeling and dirty wall covering as we'll as carpeting. Also the tobacco coloured towels and overall colour scheme feels very unfresh. No matter how clean tobacco towels will always feel just as the colour implies.

I read many, many reviews before choosing this location for our stay and they did not disappoint me. It was an excellent place to stay while visiting San Diego as it is central located and only a short drive from all the things you will enjoy while visiting the area. We opted for a beach view with a balcony on the second floor. We found the room clean, quiet, comfortable and the view was excellent (especially for sunset). The beds were "Goldilocks" comfortable...not too hard and not too soft and the pillows were plentiful. The negatives concerning this hotel are the beach in front is a hub of activity in the early morning till sundown with scuba diving classes and kayak classes. This is not actually the hotel's fault, but it does distract from the view and seclusion of the site. Also there not a microwave which would have been nice but it does have is a refrigerator and coffee maker. The staff was friendly and helpful, the service was good, and the bar offered a good selection for Happy Hour. We did not eat at the restaurant as we found a wonderful place to eat breakfast and lunch within a few miles in the town of La Jolla called the Coffee Cup. It is small, but the staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. Please take time to visit them. If not there are many other restaurants nearby to fit any need. FYI..you do have to pay for parking as street parking is limited. We were lucky as we found parking on the street, but it is a walk of several blocks sometimes. We only had to pay one night, but we were there in the off season during the week. I am sure this area is really crowded on the weekends and during peek season. We will definitely return in the near future to this hotel.

Room Tip: Oceanview...ask for the 2nd floor
