Parking was the biggest issue here. Once parked, the walk along the cliffs overlooking the crashing waves is just spectacular! They are rebuilding the concrete steps down to the pristine scuba beach and underwater park, but you can still get down there. We stayed up on the cliff and watched a crowd of people surrounding a sea lion on the beach.... sun bathing! When the huge creature decided it was time to find shade, it was hilarious to see all the people scramble to get out of the way. Just pure enjoyment and relaxation here..... but crowded.

A classic beach without the rough side of the beach scene. Lots of families and some large grass areas to get out of the sand.

Went to the beach in La Jolla and it was a great day. There was a place in the water for surfing and on the other side was swimming. The water was warm and the weather was sunny and 80 degrees.

I've visited San Diego many times and finally made our way to the beach this time around. It is a very beautiful white sand beach. The only drawback was the traffic getting here and the crowd at the beach. There was a sea of people on the beach and not much space to even plant my umbrella and beach chair. It was a bit too crowded for my liking. Nonetheless, the water was mild and warm. The kids enjoyed the afternoon splashing around the beach. Next time, we may want to stay at a hotel on the beach for a different experience.
