“Low tide wonders”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 via mobile

Only visit this place during low tide. Nestle around the rocky shore are numerous tide pools. They are teeming with lives that you will see the more you explore. Snails, abalones, crabs, anemones, see cucumbers, so on and so forth. There's also seals and pelicans basking on the rocks.
Go there to explore and you will be amazed. But the key is to go there during low tide.

“Great Rocky shores”
Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

There are fantastic tidal pools on the rocky shores. Go when the rider is low and you can walk out quite far. Children will find the many tidal pools very interesting. I also took some great s sunset photos there when it coincided with low tide.

“A mingling of locals and tourists”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

I loved climbing across big black rocks with local families and a few tourists like me. A barefoot kid corrected me when I called an anemone a sea urchin. It's free, the view of the Pacific Ocean is breathtaking, and you can stay for an hour or more or five minutes. Sure it smells. There's a colony of sea lions nearby, bellowing away. In a place where many attractions cost upwards of $100, the Shell Beach Tide Pools glimmer just like those abalone shells that demarcate beach entries. Enjoy!!!

“Very Cool”
Reviewed 8 January 2014 via mobile

This is a good time! Check the tides and go as its getting low... Some of the things you'll find trapped are starfish, anemones, fish and LARGE red kelp crabs.

“Fun searching for shells and exploring tide pools”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

This was a fascinating, easy to get to place that provided many tide pools to explore. A variety of shells and small sea creatures could be seen during our visit. My son even saw a star fish in the rocks.
