“Cool views during the day and at night.”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

I loved checking out the tide pools with my family. The water is so clear and you can really see everything. I returned by myself at night and saw the spotlight on one of the cliffs in the water. This was really cool to see. The combination of the fog, waves and light was really spooky.

“Not much life there”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

We just went to Shell Beach. First the parking is horrible. Second the smell is even worse! We got there at low tide and walked and saw a few small sea life things. I kind of felt like the story of "The Emperor has no Clothes". It was just ok as far as the tidepools. The seals were fun to watch, especially the babies.

“Marine life at its Best”
Reviewed 5 March 2014 via mobile

This is a wonderful place to see and I can only imagine how interesting it could be for children. The colors, movement of the critters and the egret up close and personal made it especially exciting....life is teeming in these tide pools and we couldn't get enough of them. Enjoy.

“Go when tide out and then even more amazing.”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

This is a treasure chest of sea animals and wild life right up close. We were in awe at all we experienced. We had challenges finding parking so had to walk back towards the beach which was AWESOME. We may have missed some of the attractions had we parked in the disignated parking. First of all we past amaxing cliffs and overhangs. Then we came to a beach with over a houndred seals resting in the sun that we could walk right up to. Further down the path there were caves with many pelicans perched just over our heads on a cliff. Further down there were sea lions resting on a cliff ledge that we could go close to and take photos. From the land looking out at the ocean we saw whales and dolphins. When the tide is low you can go down on the beach and look in the most amazing tide pools.

“Low tide wonders”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 via mobile

Only visit this place during low tide. Nestle around the rocky shore are numerous tide pools. They are teeming with lives that you will see the more you explore. Snails, abalones, crabs, anemones, see cucumbers, so on and so forth. There's also seals and pelicans basking on the rocks.
Go there to explore and you will be amazed. But the key is to go there during low tide.
