“Friendly Authentic Italian Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2014

This small restaurant is big on service and taste! They bake authentic Italian bread every morning and it is hard not to make a meal of bread and dip! We enjoyed the homemade soup and split a veal entree and dessert. Just perfect portions for small appetites. They also have patio service and live music when the weather is good. Our server was polite and very accommodating and we enjoyed a nice visit with the Chef as we left the restaurant. Don't miss this great spot just off Prospect when you are in La Jolla

“Authentic Italian”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014 via mobile

At first glance, it is very simple and modest, but after trying their bread, I knew they were legit. Also, it helps to hear languages from all over the world throughout the restaurant to know that it must be pretty good. After primo piatti, it was excellent, with each plate increasing in complexity, texture, and flavor. To end, their cannolo is to die for!!! A must have. Enjoy!!

We decided to take a chance on this and were very surprised! The service was excellent and the food was even better! The Lobster ravioli is to die for.

“Meh”

It's a cute restaurant and the service was excellent. Loved the waitress who was very attentive without being annoying. The food was not spectacular for the price.

“Turned away”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013 via mobile

Stopped in for dinner around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was nearly empty. The host asked if we had reservations and we told him we didn't. He turned us away saying he had too many reservations. It was a cold rainy night and very unlikely that 20 tables of people would be coming in. I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service. Fortunately we found another great Italian restaurant around the corner...bistro pazzo. Delicious! I will not go back to la dolce vita.
