The was nothing special to see that you couldn't visit by yourself. The staff was really nice but it wasn't anything unique.

An awesome experience! My wife and kids (14 & 11) rented two double kayaks on Thursday, August 7th; this was our first time kayaking and we loved it! All were a little nervous at first, but we quickly settled in and completely enjoyed the tour. The beach is wonderful, water is very clear and the wild life was plentiful for a two hour tour. We saw several leopard sharks, fish, and sea lions during our kayak adventure. You will get wet, so leave your valuables in the car or rent a locker onsite. Our guides were GREAT (TY Ted and Graham), very helpful instructors, informative about La Jolla history and seeing Dr. Suess's house was an unexpected bonus. Ted got in the water and guided our kayaks in and out of the cave safely, what an amazing experience and the highlight of our visit to San Diego! La Jolla is only 20 minutes north of San Diego and well worth the trip. Try to book a morning tour as the water tends to get rougher as the day goes on, we did the 9:20am and it worked out perfectly for us. Enjoy if you go!

My 16 year old son and I took the La Jolla Cove Cave Tour and loved it. We rented a 2 person kayak (I had never kayaked before) and that worked well. The tour guides, Addison and Eric, were great. They taught us much and took us into one of the caves in the cove. Sea lions were plentiful, even a few in the cave! This was one of our favorite activities on our San Diego vacation.

Used La Jolla Kayak for a kayaking tour of the caves, and later for snorkeling equipment.

The kayaking was fun. Great enthusiastic tour guides and a great time in the ocean. I did want to do a few caves, rather than just one, but still had a blast. Saw tons of sea lions and great sea life. Great instruction but not overdone.

Later, when renting the snorkel garb, I had a problem with one of my fins, but didn't know it until getting to the beach. As I was dreading walking back up to the store to replace it, a worker met me on the beach and ran up there for me. Exactly what you would expect from a company, but not often provided by many others. We also received a great tip from one of the employees and spent the afternoon snorkeling with leopard sharks near the cliffs. We would never have found them on our own. The reef is fun, and there are many colorful fish to see all around La Jolla Cove, but La Jolla Kayak helped us to avoid the crowds.

High recommendations here.

Rented a kayak from La Jolla Kayak Saturday. The gal at the counter helping us wasn't very organized with what information we needed to know before we headed out. So we walked down the beach without lifejackets because we didn't know you needed to get them from the store. When we arrived at the beach there were 4 guys sitting there talking who informed us that we'd have to walk all the way back for our life jackets (uh....service...? Maybe one of you could go get them?). After our long walk, one of them told us to grab our own paddles and he set the kayak on the beach and walked away. It's pretty hard to push yourself off into the ocean in a kayak with waves pushing you back onto the beach. As we looked around and saw all the other companies helping people into their kayaks...I realized we picked the wrong company. The back rest on the kayak was also broken so my back was pretty sore by the time we got back. Horrible use of $80.....
