If you pine for that little clam shack by the sea, this is a place you will want to visit. You can actually get clam chowder, fried clams (roll or platter) or a lobster roll (mayo or butter) - from New England! It is my ultimate indulgence next to Texas style BBQ brisket - the subject of a different review at another time. Yankee Pier also does a great steamed clams and an excellent and very moderately priced fish & chips (husband's favorite). The wait is often long if you do not have a reservation so be sure to make one. And, on the nice days, there is outdoor seating with heaters and a happy hour special on beer & oysters. The service is good and the menu is a bit pricey although this is not a fancy place. Monterey Aquarium sustainable fresh fish and seafood is what this place is all about. House coleslaw and 'Kennebunk' fries are very good too. Husband complains that they actually count the number of fried clams they put on the plate or in the roll. So - portion control can be a title over done. But - where else will you get this wonderful New England-style food? This is always my birthday gift to myself - a cup of chowder and a clam or lobster roll. WOW ….. the food is always god here ...

Yankee Pier never disappoints. At 5:30pm on a Saturday it was completely filled and the people just kept coming. Although everything is fresh every day, they do feature special daily fish catches. On our latest visit the Mahi Mahi and Rock fish were on the special menu. Entrees come with your choice of two sides. We enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, polenta, and squash. They have a very good wine list and if you bring your own, corkage is $15.00. It is noisy and families are welcome. You can sit at the bar to eat as well.

Great chowder followed by even better seafood. What set this experience apart was the attentive service while I caught up with an old college friend; always available with prompt responses yet never intrusive or hovering. Not to be missed!

Always busy, but great staff with especially friendly and helpful attitude. The starters (popcorn shrimp and calamari) came really quickly and weer perfectly cooked - some of the freshest and best I've ever had, The sole (day's special) was equally super, and the desserts were great. Not the cheapest place around, but for my money worth every penny.

Yankee Pier is a bright, cheerful, friendly place. The popcorn shrimp appetizer is not to be missed, and the menu, which reflects what is fresh and locally caught, is creatively prepared. It is so good that we have been there several times, sometimes just the two of us and sometimes with family and/or friends.
