A nice hotel in very nice location. The room was very nice with desk and two large chairs. A wedding was in full swing Sat. and that just added to the fun. Very nice spa and pool. The restaurant and bar was just reopened and also nice with patio dining.

A luxury hotel, with robes, comfortable beds, great coffee available in the lobby. Parking adds to the cost at $15 whether self parking or valet with somewhat restricted street parking. Big wedding on first floor last night, but we did not hear anything on second floor in our room. No Safe in the room was a bummer. A great night's sleep. New restaurant, but we love Squirrel's a few blocks away for breakfast!

Beautifully appointed, spacious, comfortable & clean rooms. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location (30 minutes to SF). The town of Lafayette is quaint and worth a look around as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms to the west have sleeper sofas in the rooms. Rooms to the east overlook the courtyard. Ask for...

This is a gem -- a quiet, beautifully appointed luxury hotel in the rolling foothills east of Oakland, tastefully decorated with architectural details, sculptures and paintings in tribute to the Marquis de Lafayette. Inlaid wood flooring at the elevator lobbies on each of three floors gives way to quiet carpeted hallways. The rooms are spacious and well insulated from adjoining rooms. I reserved the "lowest rate available" for a king-size bed -- the room included a large seating area with sofa, coffee table & chairs and a walk-out patio (through french doors) with a chaise lounge that felt wonderfully private as it looked right onto a shaded, landscaped hillside. While the hotel can easily cater to the fanciest of guests, my husband and I were received with genteel courtesy even though we looked every bit the part of dusty, bedraggled hikers that we were. The hotel has an interior courtyard (another tribute to the European style); the swimming pool is pristine with comfortable chaise lounges. We stayed for two nights and noted that all the guests and staff seemed to be smiling and courteous. It was our bad luck that both restaurants were under construction during our stay. Nearby Lafayette and Walnut Creek offer outstanding shopping, strolling, and dining options. We felt the price was very reasonable and look forward to our next visit.

I stayed at the Lafayette Park Hotel when my boyfriend was on business in California. The room was clean and furniture was comfortable. The location close to the BART let me explore San Francisco easily. At night, we enjoyed the beautiful pool :)

Great hotel and attentive staff. We absolutely loved the bed--super comfy! The rooms were spacious and well appointed with comfortable furnishings. The staff was pleasant with a. "Can do" attitude. They wanted to insure that the guests were happy. Very nice! The hotel is less than 2 miles from the BART station which was great. We took it in to the city (San Francisco) each day. Very convenient. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Lafayette Inn and Spa was a welcoming place to stay on a recent trip to Berkeley. I arrived Friday evening and was checked in by gracious front desk staff. Not wanting to stray far for dinner after having traveled from NYC, I ate in the hotel restaurant. Can be a gamble but in this instance hit the jackpot. Delicious meal, good selection of beer on tap, and excellent service. My room was cozy, clean, and looked over a courtyard with a burbling fountain. I slept well. The staff took care of taking me to the BART station and my early checkout at the end of the weekend. I had a chance to swim in the spa pool but hope to take advantage of other spa services when I have more time on my next visit. Lafayette Inn was a wonderful place to stay off the beaten path.
