Sitting on the patio on a warm summers evening is usually enough to make me happy.... But add the amazing food at Maro Wood Grill and the great service and you just can't go wrong. Guests at neighboring tables talking with each other added to a very sociable evening. The place is small so don't expect to get seated without a reservation but its worth it.

This small, quaint Laguna Beach restaurant on PCH is delightful, quieter evening with friends. They offer a wonderful wine selection. Both times we've been there, the owner, a young handsome guy and the chef, a pretty, charming "California-Girl type" have greeted us. The service is excellent and the waiters are clearly well trained and knowledgable.

We enjoyed it so much, we returned for a "watch the chef" prepare night with wine pairings from New Zealand. The portions are generous and excellent quality (so not frufru for those who like to feel satisfied, like my husband). They have excellent lamb, salmon and pork dishes plus terrific desserts and coffee. The halibut was OK, a bit dry. It's on PCH, no view of ocean with indoor bar-top seating and outdoor table seating. Prices are comparable to other local restaurants. Also a great place to share a few different types of entrees or appetizers. While it's owned by an Argentine, the chef is not so the food isn't Latin American (based on what I selected).

We were in Laguna Beach Aug 2012 and had a great meal. The menu is simple but unique featuring local, organic produce. We loved the gtilled edamame, MAro burger, roasted chicken and desert. We went back for a second evening on our short stay.

Fresh, local and organic ingredients! I had green salad with chicken... Very tender, juicy, smokey chicken (wood fire grilled!) and wonderful vinaigrette! Beautiful, small restaurant with outside seating. Simple, modern food and decor. Sangria was very refreshing.

Laguna has many great restaurants, some with natural views others not, so they need to step up in every other aspect. Knowing this, expected great argentine food and came away with just an okay. I did love the salad, very tart and delicious for a occassional salad gourmet. The Skirt stake was pretty good as well. Here is what is lacking. The argentina empanada is doughy and they could a take a lesson for the Los Angeles empanada place. The ambiance even though we know is argentine, should match and I feel this is lacking, recommend a solo player or turn up the argentine tango music. The owners need to train the servers, they too come across as lacking training in serving and the choosing of wine. I hope they will heed any advise given because I would love to go back.
