A wonderful little café in downtown Laguna Beach. Unknown to many but well worth trying. I have traveled to Bruges, Belgium where I had fresh mussels (moules) and pommes frites for dinner. The food at Brussels Bistro was reminiscent and just about equal to my dinner in Bruges. I would recommend the Asparagus soup along with almost everything else on the menu. A nice romantic place to have dinner with date followed by a nice walk along Laguna Beach's Main Beach Boardwalk.

We were a bit disappointed. Some reviews raved about the originality of the menu, but we found it average and overpriced. We ordered mussels ($26), only to find that the sauce was extra (+$2-$5). Raw oysters were small. The pea soup was good and made from fresh sugar peas. The service was so/so, felt that we were being rushed. There are lots of other options in Laguna Beach.

Visited here on a Thursday evening so it was not very crowded. We only wanted drinks but they let us sit in the dining section. Staff were friendly & helpful with the beer choices. Will come back again.

The food is authentic Belgian and the beer selection was great. Thu-Sat nights, the place also turns into a nightclub. I've been there many times and it is a great place to have dinner, just a waffle, or a beer and fries.

We were in 3 (I and my elderly parents) and went for dinner at Saturday night, but, as expected, almost every nice restaurants cited by Tripadvisor were full, with waiting time at least 30 to 90 minutes and, at 19:30 PM, long waiting time is not a solution. Then, walking through the main streets, we saw this restaurant located undergrounded, not completely full, European styled, then, we decided to follow our instinct and hunger, so let's try this...
What a great surprise!! Although the small number of the waiters, the service was excellent, the food came marvelous (suggested by the waitress): the sea bass cooked in a paper bag is suburb, extremely soft and tasteful. My father had a yummy creamy chicken with belgian rolling, besides the Belgium fries. And if you love mussels, they have a very nice ones. All enjoyed our meals, and feeling the vibe of being in Europe, just in Laguna Beach. The place can get a little noisy and crowded, but it is a fun time without some of the pretension of other places in the town. Brussels Bistro really saved our night!! We will certainly be back. And my father remembered his very nice food for several days...Last: the price is really nice, comparing to other restaurants in the city. It is a must!!!
