“Too bad water level is soooooo low - but good campground!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. As many other reviewers have noted, this campground can get VERY busy. However, many of the sites are quite large and readily accommodate a large number of people.

We stayed in an RV site and had plenty of room for 1 or 2 tents. Altogether there were 6 of us and we all fit in the site quite comfortably. The sites on either side of us were very full but there was sufficient room so it didn't feel like people were right on top of us. Each campsite has a metal fire pit and at least one picnic table, most have two.

Our site was very level and very clean when we checked in. Checking in was a breeze. I had pre-paid a few weeks ahead of time (which was also a breeze) and we were setting up camp about 5 minutes after pulling up to the main office.

There is a small pool which was nice and an excellent little store on the premises....they had soft serve ice cream, very good on a hot summer day. The team that supports the campground is very attentive and always patrolling the area to be of assistance and maintain the area.

The full hook-ups were nice, so I can't really review the showers or bathroom since we used those in our travel trailer. There are tent only sites as well for those of you that want a bit of a rougher experience while camping. Those sites are back further and even more wooded than the RV sites (which have a lot of trees). Most looked like they would accommodate more than one large tent per site.

As most of you are aware, CA is in the middle of a drought so accessing water from this campground is a bit difficult. It is now quite a hike down to where the water flows. However, there are still plenty of areas within 20 minutes of the campground that allow for you to play in the lake or even launch a decent sized watercraft.

We will definitely be back to this campground....hopefully the next time the water will be higher.

Older motel but clean. No free breakfast. No tissue in room. Very quiet. Very nice, clean, modern pool. Kids loved it. Will stay there again, right off the freeway and easy access. Store nearby. State campgrounds less than 1/2 mile away.

We visited during memorial day weekend. Campsite is pretty good with properly maintained restrooms and a friendly staff. No showers but it is close to the lake. Couple of Marinas really close by where you can rent boats and enjoy water-sports (which are bit expensive though). Less than an hour drive to Mt.Shasta.

I wouldn't advise this campsite during peak summer though. We went during peak summer which was bit of problem. Day time temperatures reached 100 and even nights were warm. The water level nearest to the campsite was really low and really dirty.

This is a great campsite for families (especially if you have your own boat), but not during summer!

We had a great stay in the campground. I was helped over the phone making reservations by a very nice lady. Answered my questions and made sure our site was reserved when we arrived. We arrived late (after dark) and a gentleman( Marty i think) saw us trying to find our space and came out in a golf cart with a flashlight to show us the way and make sure we could get the trailer in the space since it was so dark. He also offered to find us some firewood for the following nights stay. When we got back to the site the next day there was a nice assortment of wood to add to the wood we brought. The service was excellent and being off season the price was too at $25 per night including hookups. The sites were large, secluded and enjoyable. And yes there are train tracks that run thru the area, but to us that just added to the atmosphere when a train ran thru. It was an A+ for us.

Room Tip: There are several loops in the campground and we like the one to the left as you enter

Stayed at the RV Park on Sept. 15th and 16th. The Park is well located to the Lake and still convenient to Redding (30 miles or so). The staff was friendly and overall the the stay was as expected. Most of the spaces do have a tree canopy, but If I was to criticize anything it was the amount of poison oak on the trails.

There is no better place to go on Shasta Lake. The people are friendly. The facilities are clean and nice. There are laundry rooms and a playground. It is located right on the lake. We always have a great time here.

Hello all, I had my first experience with Antlers this past weekend. Before leaving I read the reviews and was a bit apprehensive. To be honest this was a nice camp site. The train is loud, but it was not a huge deal. The bathrooms are dated, but the are clean and the staff checks them within reason. Believe me I am no camper, but this place made it more bearable for sure. A true feather in their cap is the staff. Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful. I want to give a special thanks to JIM. He went above and beyond so that my husband could go fishing. All in all for the price, it is a great place to camp for the whole family even the dogs loved it. Thanks Antlers for your hospitality.

Room Tip: We stayed in campsites 52 and 56, huge.
