“Stay in the Cozy Cabin #9, cute and near the main road”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I travel often so I learned to read trip advisor before booking anywhere. You must not expect resort quality in this town, it has only a few lodgings and dining establishments and one store. You can walk the entire town in under 20 minutes. It is a fairly remote location, yet very near Yosemite Park, right on Mono lake, so they can charge what they like. If you want modern facilities or amenities, do not stay in this town, you will be disappointed.
I found the overall property to be cute, the motel grounds with pretty flowers and many places to sit outside and enjoy the weather and the views. The staff were so polite and helpful. I got slow wifi in my cabin, but it was pretty good in the outside sitting areas and on the bench outside the grocery next door.
I stayed here in a Cozy Cabin #9. It was cute in an old-fashioned cabin sort of way. All wood interior with cabin themed textiles and decor. It was very clean. I do see the problem many have with the light coming in at sunrise, because they have only thin curtains on the windows. I did not mind this, but I can see how others might. My cabin was very clean, including the linens. I did not use the television but it was a small flatscreen. They don't have air conditioner, but if you keep the windows open during the evening it will cool rapidly, nights are cold here, even summer. The cabin does have a heater, but I did not use it. Bed was soft but comfortable, and I slept well.
I really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening and the fact that this is a small walkable town. I felt very safe in this town and in this cabin.

Room Tip: I liked Cozy Cabin #9 because it is close to the road, just behind the grocery and close to the fron...

We stayed in cozy cabin15 which had a kitchenette with the necessary cooking supplies & dinnerware. The bathroom was roomy, but the shower was quite small. We kept bumping into the water valve changing the temperature (careful hot is very hot). The mattress was sunken in the middle, very uncomfy. But the place was cute. A nice porch with chairs & small table/chair set along the cabin's side. A charcoal grill in the common area next door. Parking in front of the cabin. They still advertise AAA at the office but when we booked 6 months in advance they denied any affiliation. A bit pricey, but that's what happens when in a resort area. The location was great. Easy to get to the main attractions of Mono Lake, Bodie, Mammoth Mountain Resort, & Yosemite. Also each day at sunrise the local rooster crowed a good morning greeting!

Basic motel right on 395, but room was quiet. Overpriced for an average place, but it was middle of summer so I didn't expect a "deal". Staff was very friendly. Room was typical small motel type. No view of Mono Lake, but just had to walk around for that. Appeared to be the best in LV.

Location is great, room was clean and Ok. We had no problems here. Maybe the price could be lower. Accommodation was without breakfast. Lee Vining is very nice place to stay, next to Mono Lake. Internet was Ok.

This hotel is well positioned on the shores of Lake Mono, near to Bodie and Yosemite. It is quite expensive but that is probably because of the limited accommodation in the area and it was disappointing that the wifi coverage was poor and limited to the reception.
The room was good and clean. There is a coffee shop in the grounds for breakfast but we didn't try it, instead we ate locally - there are severla options.

Arrived late in the afternoon on our way between Death Valley and Yosemite.
Helpful and friendly reception staff who were aware we were coming. Very down to earth place. Nothing fancy but we liked it all the more for this. The site overall is a little spread out and a bit like a back yard bit we found out barebones cabin easy enough. These cabins are really basic but clean, tidy and comfortable and offer a refreshingly simple alternative to motels. There's no TV, fridge or coffee maker, just a cabin with a bed in it - and that's about it. Outside, there's a small yard area with a BBQ pit and a picnic table that we made use of later in the evening in a break from eating out.
The bathrooms are separate and shared with other cabins. This is more of a campground than a hotel/motel don't forget, so the bathrooms are very functional but, like the rest of Lake View, entirely adequate.
The on-site cafe was ok for breakfast next morning. Not a huge selection but good enough.
