The Wine Bar[n] is a real find. It is just a couple minutes south of the Mendocino village and is part of the Glendeven Inn.
It's a huge, two room gallery and lounge-like space and they carry Mendocino county selections only. It's nice that they focus on the local area. We learned that the pinot noirs and the Alsace varieties grow especially well in the Anderson Valley and the other selections were pretty great too.
The Wine Bar[n] is also a gallery that shows local art. There are paintings, cool hand blown glasses and wine decanters, jewelry, and lots of other great things to browse and look at. The place has walls of floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto nice gardens and a graveled courtyard.
We took 6 bottles home after doing some "flights". Two nice syrahs, a great zin, a Riesling and two pinot noirs. Highly recommended when you're in the area.
