Since Winemaker Charlie Kidd took over winemaking duties at this beautifully set winery location in the hills of Livermore, everything is coming up golden. His first wines from the 2011 vintage, including a smashing rose, gorgeous Pinot Grigio and perfumey-rich Pinot Blanc, are sensational.
He whipped both the 2009 Tempranillo and 2009 Casa de Viñas Covarrubias Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon into tip-top shape: they both won Gold medals at the 2012 SF International Wine Competition and at the 2012 Alameda County Fair Best of the Bay Competition. The setting here amidst the vineyards, looking out over the majestic landscape off Wetmore Road, is pure old California. Relax outside and catch the breezes blowing through the lavender while you sip on one of Charlie's elixirs. His sweet and savvy girlfriend, Beth, manages the Tasting Room and will ensure you have a most memorable and enjoyable time. Hospitality is her specialty!
