Servings are enormous, enough to eat lunch and have leftovers for dinner. Ingredients are fresh and top quality. Everything I have ever tried here has been delicious. Can be a wait during busy mornings or lunches, try for those in-between times. Only open until 2:00 PM.

This area just a few miles west of Lone Pine is a fascinating place to visit. Movie road passes by locations for many movies made here over the years. The Mobius Loop trail is fairly easy and well-marked. It begins and ends at a large parking area. The Sierras are visible and very impressive here and the crazy rock formations of the Alabama hills surround you. The arch is worth seeing and you can climb up into it. Movie Road is mostly unpaved, but it was easy driving.

The tourist info sent us to view the hills, a beautiful spot with snow capped mountains all around.
We just did a short trail through the boulder which you could walk through. Kids loved it!
Probably a 30 minutes walk all together although we did have to travel 5 mins on a gravel road ( not so good in our rented rv ;-)

I will not repeat what others have said about the place (great views of Mount Whitney and surrounding Sierra Nevada peaks, rock formations, movie history, etc). I was definitely awed by the spectacular sunrise which created great lighting for photography. Definitely make the drive on Movie Road. Tip: the parking lot for the Mobius Arch trail is 1 mile from the start of the dirt road, on the left side of the road - you should take this trail to view the mountains framed by the arch as well as great views of the rock formations. The trailhead is on the left side of the parking lot, with a less-than-obvious sign which is about one-foot tall. The dirt road was driveable in my sedan with a speed of 10 mph.

There are many trails in the hills you can take which are fine for many passenger cars. Just watch the ground clearance and be prudent in your use of the air conditioning. The Chamber of Commerce offices in Bishop and Lone Pine have a free guide to "off road" trails, some of which you can take the average rental sedan (saloon) on. ""Movie Road" is one of these.
