GOOD

Yes, it is old and yes it needs some TLC but overall I found the room to be more then a 3 star room and the atmosphere pleasant. The staff was very helpful and I will stay there again.

This is much better then any other tourist hotel in the area

Thanks for the feedback - and you are absolutely right - she looks pretty good for 80...we all should be so lucky. If you get a chance - head over to our website and take a look at our preservation page for more info on some of the many projects we have in place to restore and preserve the World Famous Queen Mary for your kids and your kids' kids to enjoy.

We cannot wait to host you again soon!

The ship is well maintained. They offered many activities for a price. The have a lot of additional added fees that raised the cost by 50%, such as parking, facility fees, and multiple taxes. Do see at least once, nice experience.

Room Tip: No temperature control in rooms.

Thanks for the feedback and so glad you had an awesome visit to the World Famous Queen Mary...you do have to pay for parking - like most hotels - and it is expensive to park in So Cal - we charge $17 per night for parking...I once paid 50 - no joke - in San Fran...#justsaying.

This is California - we do have taxes - nothing can be done about that and we have a $14.95 facilities fee, which entitles guests to:
• Audio tour of the ship
• Free Local and long distance calls
• Children’s scavenger hunt
• WIFI
• Access to the fitness center
• 50% off of select guided tours and attraction tickets
• A portion of the facilities fee will be used for the restoration and preservation of the Queen Mary.

Definitely not a 50% increase by my math...or just math in general.

My rating is based on the the lack of Help I've gotten trying to retrieve an item left in our Room M161, in the closet after checking out on Sunday June 15, 2014. I realized the item was left accidently and called approx 2 hrs later and the Item has not been found. They will not take accountablity for the loss and said their housekeeping staff turns in all lost items. We were there for a family wedding, which included alot of our family & friends staying there also. I can't believe that they have such dishonest house-keeping staff so BEWARE!

Thank you so much for the feedback and we are bummed that you lost something aboard the ship. We will certainly work hard to help you find it...I don't think its fair to start throwing accusations around, however. Our team works around the clock to keep the ship in ship shape and we trust our employees. But thank you for bringing this to my attention and I will make sure this gets the attention it deserves. We hate seeing five-star experiences turn into 1-star.

Thank you so much for the feedback and we are so thrilled that you had such a wonderful experience at the World Famous Queen Mary. We love and support the annual Ink-N-Iron festival each year - for those of you not in the know - its a tattoo, hot rod and musical festival that we host annually.

No hidden cost here sir - you pay taxes - this is So Cal, right? - you pay for parking and then you pay a facilities fee of $14.95, which entitles guests to:
• Audio tour of the ship
• Free local and long distance calls

This is an old ship, and full of incredible wood working. Must see the shops, the lounges, etc. The rooms are kept nearly to original specifications. The history and engine room tour is free for guests and worth the stay alone. Modern cruise ships do not allow you see the engine room, etc.

My wife and I were searching for a place to stay for the night near the Pacific Coast. After looking at hotels in the area, we decided to stay on the Queen Mary. It was a one of a kind experience. We had a King Harbor View room. It had as much room as some of the hotels I have stayed in. Even if you don't take any of the tours, the history of this ship is remarkable. I do recommend a guided tour based on your interests. We took the paranormal tour and it was very informative. My only complaint was the lack of dress codes in the restaurants. We ate at two of the top restaurants on the ship (including the Sunday Buffet) only to have guests wearing shorts and T-Shirts with flip-flops. If you can afford the restaurants, you can afford nice clothes. The weather was only in the 70's, you don't need shorts.
