The Queen Mary is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. But the walls are a bit thin, and we had very noisy neighbors. We called the front desk at 11:30 to complain, but the loud talking & blaring t.v. continued. At 1:00, we called again and demanded that move us to another room. They were there within 10 minutes and moved us to a new room. Overall, we enjoyed the Queen Mary very much and would definitely go back.

We stayed for two nights and had a really great time, very atmospheric. The staff were all polite and very helpful. We did the self guided tour which is very informative. We had a meal in the cafe, good value and good service. The rooms are original but even after all the years are comfortable, clean well equipped. Long beach is a short, free, bus ride away or a short boat trip away. There is plenty to do around the harbour. The hotel is great value and is one of a kind. We would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Have a room with port holes, either side of the ship.

This should not be compared with an ordinary hotel stay.
You are stopping in a memorable piece of history, and this is likely to be a memorable and unique vacation.
We stayed as a family of 4 in two twin rooms, my wife particularly interested in the historic connections of the vessel.
Many comments have been made about the lack of mod cons and imperfections of the rooms.
I was worried these may spoil our stop at the ship - however noise was rarely an issue for us and I had a great nights sleep, the room had adjustable ventilation which in the room we were in was as good as air con. The bathroom was battered ( our other room was better) but acceptable because of the fact you had a room from history to stop in.
Our sunset tour of the ship was memorable with great photographic opportunities. We had dinner and breakfast on board, both were very good.
All in all a great venue and I would be happy to return and visit again.

Room Tip: Views across the harbour are best

Thanks for the feedback and glad you had a wonderful time. A night at the museum...all I can think of is Robin Williams...RIP.

We hope to have you aboard the ship again soon.

Our purpose was to feel what it was like to travel on the Queen Mary. We did not want a modern hotel room. We were looking for some time travel to the past. The goal was achieved. We stayed at a suite and I wish there was more information onboard regarding what in the room is genuine and what was changed during the renovation. From the pictures on the halls you can make conclusions about the common areas but it’s hard to find similar information about the rooms. Also, I think the ball rooms and other areas of interest should remain unlocked so that guests can view in detail at will.

We had a very nice time on the Queen Mary. Our room was large enough for us even if it was older with a few modern improvements. But that is it's charm. The bed was comfortable and clean. We had a great view of the harbor through our window and loved walking the decks in the morning and evening. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. There is a store with a Starbucks on board, which we frequented in the am. The cafe food was very good with great views, but a bit on the pricey side. The service was so-so, I think due to not enough staff. There are plenty of restaurants across the harbor and a water taxi will take you for $1 per person each way. There is a schedule online or at the front desk. Yes, there is an extra fee of $15 to stay per day and parking is $17 a day, but I just added that into the price of the room before I booked. Since this was last minute, it was more reasonable than the other options in the area. All in all, we were very happy with the Queen Mary and would recommend it to anyone who isn't looking for modern luxury.

Room Tip: Rooms on the marina side are beautiful at night.

Thanks for the feedback and we are so glad you had such a wonderful stay aboard the World Famous Queen Mary...and yes - in addition to the water taxi for a buck during the summer months - you have the Red passport - which is free and can get you there in minutes!

So glad you had a nice stay and we cannot wait to host you again soon!

We had a great time on the Queen Mary with an awesome dinner at Sir Winston's. The room had a nostalgic charm but was dated and not as clean as we would have like. The area around the port holes was really dirty. My husband is 6" 4" and he said it was a good thing I was short because I could see the grossness. It was a charming overnight stay but not a place we would return to. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. An update in the room would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback and we are glad you had a nice visit to the World Famous Queen Mary. The ship is turning 80 years old this year and looks pretty good for her age. Our staff works around the clock to keep the ship, well in ship shape and we cannot wait to host you again soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on board the Queen Mary, Clean rooms, great service from all staff on board, No question was to stupid for them to answer. The Ship is a truly magnificent place to experience both the good times while sailing and a great insight to the War years. We have already recommended this trip and a stay on board to many of our friends. We will be back again to spend another night or two on board this beautiful part of times gone by

Room Tip: It would be nice to have a coffee pot in the rooms other than that there is everything one needs for...
