Stayed here for a business meeting over a few days. Hotel is quite large, trendy, clean, with a fun atmosphere. Surrounded by the restaurants, bars,Staples Center (enjoyed a hockey game there), and a huge cinema complex.

Bring your wallet. This is not for the overly-budget minded...but you will have fun. Felt safe the entire time.

We spent several nights here in October 2013 for a conference. First off, the hotel is enormous and obviously angling to be extremely hip. They pump some sort of noxious air freshener into the lobby, so it smells like a house with way too may Glade Plug-Ins. That, combined with the constant house music pumping through the place made we want to flee.

Our room was a standard Marriott room: comfortable bed, etc. The WIFI wasn't free and it didn't really work anyway. Our room looked out over the pool and a giant Times-Square-Esque video wall that flashed 100-foot-tall advertisements 24/7. These factors, combined with the $15 drinks at the bar ensured that I will never stay here again. In fact, I'll be avoiding the whole "LA Live" experience. For what it's worth, I'm also not a fan of Las Vegas, so take this review for what it's worth . . . .

I just got back to toronto after being away for a few nights in LA then Vegas. My mother didnt travel in the last 20 years and she finally took a break from work for our mother daughter trip. We had a long 17 hour trip to LA due to flight delays and were exhausted. We checked in and were greeted by all staff in a warm and friendly way. We headed upstairs and the room was clean and comfortable. During our trip we had an idea of what we wanted to do but wasnt too sure on how to get around. All staff were extremely helpful in getting around LA and so many things were close by the hotel. The concierge recommended a great tour bus. Coming from another Marriott property as an employee I already had an idea of what questions to ask in order to get the most out of a tour. Conceirge was honest in her recommendations. A few times as an associate when I travel to other properties ive experienced a decrease in service because I am there on a discounted rate. Needless to say we had a great stay and was treated as anybody else would have been and I am looking forward to going back again some time this year! Jacob at check out was extremely friendly and helpful!

Great spot if you're taking in an event at the Staples Center right across the street. The lobby is nice, open space. The staff is mostly excellent... a couple of attitude issues but that was not the rule. The rooms are large and well appointed. Had a Jr. Suite... was very nice. Excellent valet parking setup.

The Marriott hotel is a great hotel! The rooms are very big and are decorated in a wonderful taste. The bad is big and comfortable. The rooms are clean and well equipped. It seems that the hotel owners had given attention to every small detail (even to the soaps quality, which was great). The hotel itself nicely decorated, with a pleasant customer service. The only thing that bothered me was the weak water flow in the shower.
Other than this problem, everything was perfect.
Highly recommended!

Recently stayed here while in town for a wedding. The hotel is enormous and has a lot to offer guests. We stayed in a normal king room on the 11th floor. Bed was comfortable, décor was a little too modern for us, and I wish there had been a tub and not just a shower in the bathroom. No minibar, which was unusual, but in its place was a mini-refrigerator, which I know a lot of guests will appreciate. Parking is steep at $40/day, but I am not sure what our other options would have been. As Gold-level members of the Rewards program, we typically would have gotten breakfast in the Executive Lounge. However, because it was the weekend, the front desk gave us vouchers for continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Both days, my husband "upgraded" to the hot breakfast buffet, and both days the restaurant did not charge us. Also, we ordered room service one afternoon and were not charged. When I checked with the front desk, they said they comped it for us. Not sure why, but I won't complain. We overflowed our toilet (yikes) at 5am and maintenance was at our door in under 10 minutes. Only gripe about this place is how long it took us to get our car from the valet -- we always called in advance yet our car was never waiting for us when we got downstairs. Overall, a nice place, and we would likely stay here again unless we felt like paying $150/more per night next door at the Ritz.

This was my first time staying here - and staying in downtown LA. The hotel was easy enough to find and the valet staff was very friendly although I didn't understand where to pick up my car to leave (had to ask twice at the desk).

Check-in staff was friendly enough and the lobby is very nice - rather large and loud. Seems like there is almost a scene that happens here at the hotel bar on a nightly basis. My room was nice and quiet though.

The room was nicely decorated and quite large - with a spacious bedroom area and bathroom. Would definitely stay here again if I needed a downtown location.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room to get away from any street noise.
