Hotel room was a bit on the small side, but modern and clean. Bathroom only had a shower, no tub, but that appears to be the trend now. The placement of the shower door and shower controls was bad design. You had to get in to turn on the water to adjust the temp.which meant splashed with cold water until temp was adjusted. Solution is to turn the shower head such that it doesn't splash you when you turn it on. Lots of restaurants near by and Staples center all within an easy walk. Service was friendly, beautiful lobby decor as to be expected at a JW.

It is rare that I am overwhelmed or overly impressed with a hotel. This is one of those rare instances. The size and scale of the facilities is overwhelming, and it would be easy for the quality or service to suffer, but not so. The staff has been exceptional, and everything is first rate. I look forward to any opportunity to stay here again!

The hotel is convenient walking distance to Staples and Convention Center. The bars are fun, good service but you do pay the high end for a drink here. WP24 and The Nest offer amazing wall-to-wall window city views and people watching. The Jr. Suite room is VERY spacious, comfortable mattress with fitted sheets, a top sheet and a duvet. Sheet quality is "ok" but certainly for a "JW" Marriott we expected a better quality sheet. The a/c worked properly. The furnishings are modern, nothing special and they work. Reservation was for two guests, yet only one bathrobe was in the room. The uber clean bathroom comes with only two bath towels. The bath towels are very nice quality. The hotel sent me an email several days prior to my arrival asking if we wanted anything special. In their email, the hotel offered "extra towels" as an option. I thought, great, we definitely want a couple extras. YET, even though the hotel sent me an email confirming the extra requested towels, NONE were in our room. WHY DO THESE HOTELS BOTHER TO OFFER AND CONFIRM SOMETHING THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO! THIS JUST URKS ME BECAUSE THEY OFFER THIS ADVANCE SERVICE, CONFIRM IT AND THEN DON'T FOLLOW UP....WHY? OK, I called and they delivered them... no biggie...but the point is: don't offer this stuff if you are not going to follow up on it. Alls that does is set an expectation that isn't met and annoys the guest because they have to call anyway! Moving on: The shower was REALLY spacious. No tub, just one very very large shower that is very well lit, FANTASTIC to get a well lit shower! Typically showers this large offer built in seats but this one does not. Oh well. My only complaint was the shower head. The shower head water hits the body with a sting and really not nice when it hits in the face, not very comfortable for washing my face. Spouse get the same way. There were two sinks in our bathroom, nice. That was great for a couple to have two sinks. No makeup or shaving mirror :( Thumbs down too on the NO bathroom fan! Come on...build a "JW" hotel with bathroom fans please. Room service gets kudos for being on time, serving Illy coffee that is flavorful and so much better than that other bitter brand that is popular at hotels, and the croissants were fresh. The grapefruit was served in a flat dish and no spoon, just a fork. I would have preferred a bowl for the grapefruit half especially since they cut a hole at the bottom of the grapefruit and all the juice ran out onto the flat plate. Just sayin... The other room service negatives: Room service overcharged us, so we had to call to get that adjusted. They transferred us to the Room Service Director and he removed the overcharge. We had a room rate package that offered a $50 credit towards food and beverage, but again, we had to call to get that credit put on our bill before check out. Minor Issues that shouldn't happen at a "JW": The Roman Shades in our room were nice, but the strings were broken - apparently housekeeping doesn't inform anyone to fix these hiccups. Hey, room rates are not cheap here - to keep the rooms looking upscale to match the rates, one might train staff to identify shades that are broken and shoddy looking. Overall, it is a nice property. Overall the room was very clean. Yet for a JW Marriott, things could be better....considering the upscale cost to stay here. Valet overnight $42.

Room Tip: Jr. Suites are spacious!

Hotel is what you would expect, comfortable, very functional for the business customer and very efficient. My only quibble was there was no shower cap in the toiletries and no bathrobe and slippers and I have no doubt it could be corrected with a phone call. Just a minor quibble. I would return and stay here if I needed to be in the downtown area. The valet parking is expensive and both it and breakfast are available for more competitive prices in the immediate vicinity. Good selection of restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: The higher level rooms have great views over LA

Stayed here in April at the beginning of our US trip - first hotel. Great start - checked in very fast after a 15 hour flight.

Room again very clean and comfortable - great view of the Staples Centre and the LA Live vicinity from our room window.

Best location to catch a Lakers game if you are from out of town - simply a walk across the road.

Will be back next time!!!!
