Well, what can I say about the location? Great - 5 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd, Grauman's Theatre, and several major bus routes. Close to food stops, pubs, and a couple of pharmacies/7-11s, etc. The area is a little rougher, but it wasn't anything we couldn't handle - and there wasn't really a time when I felt 'unsafe', per-say. Just when lots of cops were around the adjoining hotels, lots of your usual crazies, things like that.

Now, the hotel room itself. NOT great. The room wasn't very clean, and in fact we noticed a couple of times that the carpet wasn't so much vacuumed as the dirt/garbage was just swept under the bed. Towels and sheets had several large stains and there was glitter all over our comforter for some reason? The shower was a joke, and we didn't get any soap for a few days. The water pressure was non existent, and I even tried taking the head off, cleaning it, moving around the washer, and then replacing - no help. It just kind of dribbled down the wall.

Also there was construction going on in the room right below ours, that they started up at 8:00am and kept it going until 17:00pm every day... including Sunday. This wasn't light construction like hammers... we saw them taking out a wall one day with a sledge at 8:00am. I know that hotels need to update (and this one can use the facelift), but seriously... maybe closing the adjoining rooms would be a good idea?

So, if you are looking for a great location, and something tolerable and cheap (which we were so the hotel did reach those needs) this place is for you. But be warned, you need to be flexible.

Room Tip: All rooms are close to parking, and the windows are pretty light. Car alarms/Traffic and such were a bit of a problem if you are a light sleeper. Be aware beforehand.

We booked a room in this hotel for 6 nights and so far, its been really great. Location is just 10 mins walk to Hollywood Highland Station, 5 mins walk to Mel's Diner (you have got to try that place out for breakfast!!) and 1 min walk to a pharmacy.

Location is excellent, safety is good, though be prepared for car chases and helicopters hovering above you as you know Hollywood are famous for their
High crime rates. Albeit, it is still safe to walk back at night, just avoid the screw-looses, beggars and religious fanatics, you'll be just fine.

Just 2 blocks from the inn, you can find loads of restaurant so you don't need to order food to be delivered to your room. There's Subway, a small Thai take-out restaurant, a Lebanese restaurant, a vegetarian restaurant, a hair dresser, nail parlors and a 24 hours convenient store.

Cleanliness wise, I am a clean freak and I am especially particular with eekie toilets, so not having any problem whatsoever with the cleanliness means that this place is just clean enough though you may want to spray the room first as there's a slight musky smell when we entered. But that was during the cold season, so it does tend to be slightly damp. No issue though.

The daily breakfast are the doughnuts, you have to get up early in the morning to score some, we never had the chances we kept waking up at 10am and by then it's all gone. No issues too though.

All in all, this inn has got a great location, clean and comes with an excellent price. You can't get a good place that's any cheaper than this. Ps, don't consider Budget Inn, go for this instead, it's also way much cheaper than the hostels along Hollywood blvd.

Cheers

-D

In a great position just a small walk to Hollywood Blvd and lots of shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, though did have a slight smell. The room was clean and cleaned daily. There was parking spaces which was excellent. Staff were friendly. They advertise continental breakfast but it is only doughnuts and coffee so don't get too excited. Overall good value for money.

I have stayed here previously but I this occasion my friend and I needed a room last minute. We managed to book a double room on the night of checkin for around $96.
This is really quite good value considering the hotel is like a block or so down from Hollywood Blvd. it's surrounded by food places and there's a pharmacy/convenience store at the end of the street.
Checkin was easy no issues, parking was available free of charge and was secure. We had room 233 an upstairs double. The bed was huge and the room was really spacious. The tv had all the good channels and the room was clean no problems there. The bathroom had a great shower too.
All in all a good place to stay on a budget in the heart of Hollywood.

Stayed here for two days. The whole place seem old and out of date at best but really it's ok in every way. Nice to have the possibility of free parking. The continental breakfast was a donut and a cup of coffee.
Really, it is what it is and it's good enough
