I liked this place a lot. It's between Koreatown and Hollywood and not convenient to public transport, but if you have a car, it's nicely located with free parking (a rarity in LA). The restored lobby had a nice 20's feel to it, the room was small and simply furnished, but clean and adequate. (Remember that when the place was built in 1927, any hotel room with a private bath was a "luxury room.") The staff was courteous and efficient. My room had a small refrigerator and yes, I really did have a view of the Hollywood sign across the city.
