we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and first impression not good as staff very unfriendly!! only one who smiled was the doorman! we were given a room in the old wing. Clean but very small and would only recommend the rooms overlooking the pool area. good location for public transport.

Room Tip: to overlook the pool

I have been staying at this hotel for almost 15 years, several times a year. It is beautifully located on Wilshire and Comstock, just a very short drive into Beverly Hills for dinner, or to Brentwood to visit friends. We always stay in a deluxe one bedroom suite or 2 bedroom 2 bath suite, and by suite, I can attest that these are really apartments, with huge living rooms, dining room, full kitchen, huge bedroom, walk in closets, beautiful marble bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs. I would never stay anywhere else in Beverly Hills. It is best to rent a car at the airport so you will have the means to pop into your favorite restaurant such as Spago, or drive out to the beach, and the Getty, all within a short drive of the Beverly Hills Plaza. LOVE IT AND LOVE THE ENTIRE STAFF!!!

Room Tip: Try to ask for a South apartment, which will have no noise from the street, and still has a lovely v...

Stayed for a week after completing the Route 66 trip from
Chicago. This appears to be a very well refurbed former motel. It has a classy lobby and helpful staff. The pool is very good and loungers are plentiful ( a bit grubby and neglected, but newish). The room was spacious, we were expecting a sofa bed and were offered a put-u-up for $30 per day. Parking is about the same, but you can usually find a space opposite for free...it's one busy road to crosss Wishire though, don't park next to the hydrant and do read the parking regs...or pay a $50 fine!
Wi-Fi is $15 each day, which I felt was an unnecessray cost and doesn't endear you when you've stayed in a host of hotels across the Staes, where it's gratis. It's very well located for Santa Monica and Venice beaches if you've got a car, both of which are good, though the Santa Monica end of Venice is a interesting, but rough, lots of very open soft drug deals going down. The traffic in LA makes London and the M25 seem easy by comparison.
I'd go back if I needed to ,but despite its plus side the incidental costs are an irritant. There's a substantial kitchen within the rooms, oven, microwave and large fridge, but a rag bag of utensils and not many useful items within that.
The rooms are very clean and in very good nick...the domestic staff do a great job too.
My wife said the Spa treatments were tremendous, they should have been considering what I paid..she's worth it!

Room Tip: Dependsif you want to be next to the poll, 90% of ground floor rooms are, or up a floor or two away...

Great hotel, convenient location to Hollywood, downtown LA, Rodeo shopping, the beaches, and Beverly Hills. Internet and parking are extra, $20 for wifi and $28 for parking, both are per night. Nice, clean room. The swimming pool and hot tub was really nice, they also had cool chairs to lounge on by the pool. All rooms come with either a full kitchen or kitchenette.

Hotel is extremely comfortable, pleasant, Hasianda structure in classical Spanish architecture. It has private fish ponds, excellent greenery, well furnished and provided rooms with excellent kitchen attached. Hotel is well connected by public transport which is rare in Los Angeles. Very helpful and friendly staff. Extremely quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I will definitely prefer to stay here. Restaurant facilities was the only weakness.

Room Tip: Choose higher floor room

This is a quirky little hotel and happened to have one of the last rooms available in LA this week so I ended up here. They certainly exceeded my expectations. They upgraded me to a kitchenette suite just for the asking, room was clean and nice, they give you the LA Times instead of that cheesy USA Today, the pool & front lobby are spectacular, but best of all was the service.

my room was in an odd little annex with a charming waterfall and koi pond, and was only to be reached by a mysterious series of passages & footbridges My first time thru I got lost & the front desk clerk literally RAN to my rescue & guided me thru the jungle. When I asked about pool hours I was told it closed at 10:00pm but if I wanted to swim later- no problem, they would work it out.

The restaurant was small and needs updating but they were also quite gracious here. When I asked to be seated on the banquette even though several clean tables were available they quickly cleaned it off, when I asked to order off the lunch menu even though it was dinner,no problem (yes this was a test!) none of the sulksand eye-rolling you often get even at the nicest hotels.

At the Plaza the customer is truly king.

1. It is not a convenient location if you dont have a car. No restaurant/grocer/market/shopping-mall closeby. Cabs are v.expensive in LA. A bus stops right in front, but frequency is 30 minutes. Better stay in a more happening location where there are things around.
2. Reception staff is rude
3. They charged me $13.8 for items that I did not use in the Minibar. I confirmed upon checkout that I did not use anything from minibar. After 2 days they booked a charge on my credit card for it. THIEVES!!!
4. Rooms are large, spacious, but a little foul odour.
5. Too many stairs through a maze to reach the rooms.
6. Expensive Internet - $15per day. Cmon an expensive boutique hotel should not be petty.
