“Not bad, but loud”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

Loews is a nice hotel in the heart of Hollywood. While you do not get much of the outside noise there will be a lot of noise inside. You hear everything what is going on in the neighboring rooms and if you are close to the elevators there will be a continues bell ringing. After visiting LA so many times I decided to stay in Hollywood and I found out there is no point in doing this. Hollywood is good to visit, but not to stay. The traffic is terrible and it will cost you a lot of time to get into and out of the hotel. Anyways, I strongly recommend Valet Parking. The distances in the huge parking are not worth the saving. The hotel could do something for more security! You can walk from the Hollywood&Highland Center into the hotel without anybody checking if you stay in the hotel or not. You could even go from the street to Spa Luce and swim in the hotel pool.

Had a very nice room on the Club Floor which includes access to the Club Lounge described as follows:
"Step up to true luxury in a Club Room on the top floors of the hotel, where every detail is devoted to your comfort including a complimentary continental breakfast to start your day as well as hors d’oeuvres and refreshments to unwind later in the private Club Lounge."
Just a heads up...the term "refresment" does not include alcoholic beverages. Be prepared to pay $8.50-$9.00 for wine, beer, hard liquor. They have an attendant who as you leave walks over to the bar area to ensure that you have completed the honor bar form. It would be appropriate if they added a clarification about that with the phrase "not including alcoholic beverages.."

Stayed here for 2 nights with hubby, 15 and 17 year old. Arranged an early check in, arrived at 11.00hrs. On arrival door staff very welcoming, as were front desk. Lobby very large and clean. Free lemonade machine, near front desk, which was delicious and very refreshing. Was offered an upgrade to 20th floor overlooking Hollywood sign. This upgrade also offered entrance into club area on the 19th floor. In the club area you get breakfast, snacks at 17.00hrs and desserts at about 19.oohrs. All soft and hot drinks are free, alcohol is available at a cost and the club shuts at 22.00hrs.Very good value.
Room
As I said overlooked Hollywood sign, one wall is a window so views amazing.Easy chair next to window. Rooms of a very good size, we had 4 largish cases and still room to walk around.Beds comfortable, air con good, free safe in wardrobe. Bathroom had everything we needed.
Staff
We found all staff very friendly and helpful. Macy (sorry if spelt wrong) the concierge was particularly good. We booked a tour with her and then was looking to book Universal but really was not sure which package to do. Macy even phoned Universal to help us with a question we had.We returned to her desk many times before we made a decision and although she was extremely busy she always remained calm, polite and helpful.
Location
Perfect location, metro 4-5 min walk from hotel.
We did not use any of the hotel facilities as out and about exploring so unable to comment on them.
If we returned to Hollywood would definitely stay at this hotel.

Not what you expect from a Loews standard; hotel very old; furniture terrible; dust in rooms everywhere; poor housekeeping; you pay just for the location; overpriced for that standard; dont stay there;

You know the old cliche, if you're looking to buy a house, there are 3 criteria - location, location, location. You need to use the same principle when looking for a hotel in which to stay and this hotel certainly provides this being right behind all the action in Hollywood Boulevard.

But its location is not its only endearing feature. Cleanliness is impeccable, beds are wonderfully comfortable and the staff are particularly helpful and courteous.

10 out 10 from me.

I was so excited about this place. Mainly, because of the location. Which was excellent . The size of the room was good, I had the king bed luxury suite. But our bathroom smelled like sour mildew. Didn't like that. Beds were comfortable and staff was accommodating . Keep in mind , the swimming pool gets very crowded on the weekends and it turns into a Jeresy shore episode, Snooki girls everywhere . Not relaxing at all. Takes a long time to get food and drinks out there. And the cushions in the cabanas are dirty. It doesn't feel very posh. A place to sleep but not hang out, in my opinion .

This was our 1st stopover on our 2012 USA road trip and the end of a 11 hour flight from the UK. We were delighted with the reception we received after our long flight and pleased with the large, bright and airy room we were allocated. We had a great view of LA in the distance and Hollywood locally. The hotel whilst very busy with visitors and event is very quite and we weren't disturded in any way. If you are driving us the self park. At $10 a day its good value. Hollywood Blvd is right outside the hotel. There are restaurants of all styles closeby and Universal Studios is just 2 miles up the road. For breakfast use Mel's Diner just down the road across Hollywood Blvd, great selections, service and prices.
