Travelled to LA in June 2011. At the time, it was still known as Renaissance Hollywood & Spa Hotel. Overall the experience is fantastic!

Great location! Linked to the Hollywood & Highland Center with all kinds of retails and restaurants, you do not have to travel out for food, shopping or entertainment.

Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Excellent wireless connection.

The hotel is also in the heart of the action where all the tourist sites are and with a good view of the Hollywood sign.

Just returned from 4 nights at the Loews Hollywood hotel- Room was on the 18th floor with a great view of the Hollywood sign and hills. Spacious and very comfortable room. Super location- steps from Hollywood Walk of Fame, Kodak theater and all the sights in Hollywood. Excellent service from all personel at the hotel- The hotel is in the heart of the action for tourist sights- similar to being in Times Square in NYC. Located next door is the Hollywood and Highland Mall which has lots of shopping, restaurants and convenient parking for your car for $10.00 a day. Hotel has nice bar area with piano player at night as well as their own restaurant called Prestion's. We had breakfast each morning and the food was very good. If looking for a central location in the Hollywood section of LA, I would definitely consider this one!

Room Tip: Request a room on a high floor for the best views- the back of the hotel looks out to the Hollywood...

The location is perfect, near the main highways so your able to get to places yet right on the boulevard in the center of Hollywood, lots of restaraunts in the shopping centre next door and the shops are also great, the pool could be a bit bigger and possibly warmer, but that is the only fault. We got upgraded from a standard room to a suite as we arrived a day early and no standard rooms were available, so this was an added bonus as the room was very large!

Room Tip: Highfloor, facing the hollywood hills or over the city!

This hotel is all about location and convenience. Great to stay in for the shopping, tourism, nightlife and dining. Front lobby has excellent customer service. Really no reason for driving if you want to stay here. Especially if you do not like Hollywood traffic. The rooms are nice contemporary, and clean, but small. If I can find another deal to stay here, I most certainly will.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the scenery.

Recently stayed at the Loews in hollywood; this is first trip back since Marriott sold the property and I was concerned it wouldn't be the same. The rooms are well maintained the staff was excellent (especially valet - very fast and also accommodating). One great room service order for breakfast get the Nutella French Toast! Hotel still has a great buzz the pool was very active as well. If you are visiting LA and Hollywood is what you want to see; this is still the best location for a moderate price point. Also easy to walk to all the tourist trappings and a quick drive to the ore interesting parts of LA. If you are into old movies hit the Egyptian 2 blocks up from hotel and the Disney theater El Capitan is worth it too (for princesses of all ages).

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor; one side faces downtown skyline the other gives you Hollywood sign, either way...

Our group of seven adults stayed here for two nights while visiting LA in August 2012. Our rooms were comfortable and the views from our rooms were amazing! The city looks so great all lit up at night. The hotel is in the perfect location if you're there to sightsee. One of the biggest reasons I choose to stay here is because of its close proximity to the Dolby Theatre. We had tickets to see Iris one night, and I didn't want to have to worry about traffic going there or coming back afterwards.
Unfortunately, they were unable to give us four rooms together as I had reqeusted when making the reservation. But, that wasn't too big of a deal.

Room Tip: Consider paying a little more for the rooms on the top two floors. You not only get a great view, bu...

We just stayed for 6 nights using Marriott Points. We had booked it before the change over and they honered it. Mostly, the service was good. The front desk, bellman, concierge were all good. We didn't have a great experience with the maid service. They seemed to leave only 1 or 2 towels, one day none at all. It was strange. The location is great for getting around Hollywood. We took the Metro (light rail) and did a hop on hop off tour that met right at the hotel. Walked to Starbucks or Mel's Diner for breakfasts. Used Starbucks for wifi. The pool was nice, but we did get there early to get chairs on a Sunday as they ran out by noontime. Had a great salad poolside. Requested and received a view of the hollywood sign, although the room was pretty cozy. You can tell that this is an older hotel that has been spruced up. No exaust fan in the bathroom and the shower drain was slow, although the water pressure was great.

Overall, a very nice stay.
