Stayed here for 5 nights in sept 14.

When we arrived the hotel looked lovely from the outside but when we walked in my heart sank. A massive Q! So many people were checking in we only just got in the door and I instantly thought it was going to be a nightmare, however, with so many staff working we only waited about 5mins and while in the Q a member if staff was walking around chatting to people and just being generally friendly.

Check in was a breeze - room was sorted and confirmed that we wanted a double room (not a twin). This was done in a great way! As a same sex couple hotels often mess this up (automatically give us a twin or ask in a red faced way) but the guy who checked us in did this beautifully. He gave us some maps of the local area and pointed out a few features such as the hotel wifi, access to the shopping mal, location of the pool etc. also gave us a discount card for the shopping centre which gives you a few freebies.

The room was great! A nice size, clean, good size tv, plugs and USB plugs (handy for internationals). Mini bar had a good selection but was expensive (like all hotels) bathroom was very nice and a huge shower. Bed very comfortable (the best on our whole usa trip) Our room had a great view of the hollywood hills and downtown but to be honest, didn't spent too long looking out as I'm not the best with heights. Room cleaned daily to a high standard. The only fault with the room for me was the lights we not very bright - all of them but just dim. The mirror in the room is no where near a light so is a bit pointless, however, bathroom bright enough.

Hotel overall very nice; pool area looked lovely but we never used it. During our stay a conference was being held so the hotel was busy and sometimes waiting for a lift (especially around 9am and 5pm) look some time and when one came it stopped on every floor and took ages to get us to our room. We used the hotel bar a few times - very nice, friendly service and good for people watching and chatting. Typical hotel prices but not that bad (when your on holiday). Bar full of conference guests so hand a busy nice atmosphere.

Hotel location is great; close to the sights (walk of fame, jimmy kimmel show, bus tours) great for transport (close to underground, hop on bus) and a great mix of restaurants around the area. We did find the nightlife in the area was lacking (for bars) so traveled to west hollywood ($10 taxi or $7 uber) but taxis etc easy to get from outside the hotel and staff around are very helpful.

Check out was easy - member if staff chatted to me about news, where we are going next, checked we were ok getting to where we needed to go.

Overall a very nice hotel where I would stay again. For getting around its perfect location means your in the middle of it all.
