“For one night okay”
Reviewed 14 September 2012 via mobile

It has less charme than a lot motels before but the location is quiet good, prices are okay. Could be that there are not enough parking spaces and you have to park somewhere else. Wifi is okay, coffee and donuts are included.

We stayed here for about 3 weeks in November/Decermber 2011 over 2 separate stays. We were away for 6 months and spent 6 weeks on the West Coast of America. Being on a backpacker budget and at the end of our stay, this suited us fine for the following reasons:

It's just around the corner from Hollywood Boulevard and 10 -15 mins walk from Chinese Theatre etc.
The bus stop is 5 mins walk and you can get connections to almost anywhere from it.
The motel is clean, the bed is huge, the breakfast was OK, the Indian guy on reception reminded me of the dad in the Kumars at number 42.
Parking was fine for us.
Air con was fine, the TV not bad if a little buzzy.
We did have the room overlooking the main road rather than one with a window overlooking the walkway and car park so that was better for us.
The 7-11 is great - good chicken wings and pizza and friendly staff.

In all it was a great base and good value for what we wanted.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a window overlooking the street rather than one with a window overlooking the car p...

4 friends, two rooms.

Traveling from San Francisco Hilton to the Best Inn I thought what on earth. First thing I checked were the bed sheets which appeared perfectly fine. Bathroom was also ok.

Room was cleaned daily by the friendly maid.
Bed was large but comfort was a tad below average.
Location was ok, 5 minute walk to Hollywood BLVD.

Negatives:

Being located on the ground floor opposite the ice machine was annoying.
Room carpet was unpleasant, could do with a real clean or removal.

Towards the end I was satisfied. You get what you pay for.

Antiquated hotel with outdated everything. A/C noisey, shower was weak, continental breakfast was GD doughnuts from the 7-11 next door and coffee was one pot...weak! Parking is the wworst. Dont get caught in the middle, if you are first in the normal stalls, you will be "blocked" in by end of the night and have to call the manager to move fking cars so you can get out. BS! Dump, looks good on website, far from the truth!

Room Tip: Get upstairs, ground floor traffic is hard to sleep with

We had to attend a party at the W and were only in hollywood for the evening. So we stayed at this hotel based on the fact that we could walk to the W hotel for a party. It wasnt that bad. It is like any best western or motel 6. The price was very cheap. Parking was free and location was really convenient. We walked to the W at 10pm and walked back at 3 am. Left in the morning and hopped right on the 101, which is really close by. Also there is a CVC store and 7-11 right there (very convenient if you need to pick up bottled water). The owner was really nice as well. I highly reccomend it if you plan just stay there to walk hollywood or do what we did by attending a party at the W without wanting to pay the high price of staying there for just a night.

As part of our 2 weeks trip on the West Coast, we really wanted to see Hollywood and the surrounding areas, so we decided on this value hotel just one block north of Hollywood Blvd. We stayed for 4 nights (Aug 19 – 22, 2011) and got a decent deal on Expedia of $90 + tax/night.

GOOD: The location is really convenient for walking to Kodak Theatre and the craziness of the Hollywood Blvd as well as a very short driving distance to Universal Studios. We had a rental car and we definitely made use of it in order to see Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills and Bel Air. The bed was pretty comfortable and the rooms are kept impeccable by some very hard working Spanish ladies. Free Wi-Fi was a bonus.

BAD: The continental breakfast is really only donuts and coffee, but I guess it was better than nothing. The street outside can be loud at times especially on the weekend, but it all depends where your room is going to be. We actually had to change our first night room due to the outside noise and we got the room right on top of the alley which was great since it was facing the court and you had no one staying under you. I’d highly recommend this room if you can get it. Also, Expedia did not charge for this hotel upfront so we had to pay for it on the spot. One thing to really watch out for is that if you pay for the rooms, there is no reimbursement if you decide to go somewhere else. The parking lot is usually not sufficient for the number of cars, so be prepared to park blocking other cars and leave your car keys at the front desk so they can move it when needed.

Overall, we didn’t spend too much time in the room as we were sightseeing nonstop, but we really liked the convenience of the location, the comfortable room and the great value per night.

Room Tip: Room on top of the driveway is quiet!
