We stayed for two nights during our girls' spring break in order to take them to Universal Studios. The hotel staff were very friendly and the desk service was quick. The hotel itself was very nice and clean. Our room was spacious enough for the four of us with two queen beds, a desk, a couple of chairs, dresser, nice LCD screen TV, and roomy bathroom. The beds were comfortable enough. In March the rooms were already getting a bit warm, but they have AC. The unit itself was rather noisy, especially when set on fan, but we ended up being thankful for that because it drowned out the noise of our extremely noisy neighbors (very thin walls) next to us and the family of kangaroos above (I recommend asking for a 3rd floor room). The bathrooms were very nice with the exception of the showers never staying a consistent temperature. The water went up and down from cold to too hot without us ever touching the handle.
There was a small pool, but we never used it. Most of the parking is under the hotel, but there is an outdoor area as well...for overflow I presume.
The continental breakfast was lovely. They served toast, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, and waffles every morning. They changed hot dishes slightly daily, but they usually included biscuits, gravy, some sort of egg (cheese omelet our first morning, scrambled the next) and a meat (bacon the first morning, sausage the next). They provided coffee, tea, various juices, and milk. There was also yogurt.
While it is within walking distance to Universal Studios, it's a bit of a hike, a good portion of it up hill. The walk took about 15 minutes each way. If you don't want to pay the $15 parking fee, you can hike it. The area the hotel is located in is okay, not scary but not great. There aren't a lot of eating places within walking distances except for at CityWalk which is at the entrance to Universal Studios (no fee to enter unless you're driving and then you need to pay the parking fee). We went over for dinner our first night and were pleased with the variety of fast food and sit down. I believe there were about 30 different eateries.
