“Not Bad, Not Wonderful, Great Location, Free Parking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

This hotel is not in the best of neighborhoods, although we didn't think it was dangerous but is only 2 blocks from downtown, just on the West side of the 110 Freeway. The price is about 1/3 the usual LA downtown hotel rate. The room was clean and the staff helpful. The free parking was a big plus. It was fairly quiet with a bit of road noise from the freeway but not bad. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room and the Thai Restaurant next door is wonderful and a great value. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: I don't believe there is an elevator to the 2nd floor so you might want to stay on the first flo...

Clean enough, cheap and just barely decent. A little expensive for what it offers, shady area at night be careful.I stayed there because it was close to the convention center but honestly the stairway to my room smelled like urine.

Room Tip: Look at better options if your wallet allows you to....

Horrible!! Stay away! Would give no star if I could. Was close to midnight looking for a place to stay and called ahead for an available room and the old guy just said yes and INSTANTLY hung up! Anyways, it was the cheapest at the moment since its near downtown(opposed $140+ around) and still went here. The old Indian looking guy was a total creep! Besides that the room was so horrible as soon as I walked in it was insanely hot! They don't even crack the one window and the AC didn't work! The room is so tiny and dirty it made my skin crawl as soon as I walked in. The wood floor and the wood tv stand made the room smell 500 times worse! The sink is a joke. It is tinier than a small bedside table. The bed was as hard as rock and there was no chance I would sleep in there. I didn't even stay in the room more than 15 minutes until I walked down stairs and got my money back. Not worth a single penny off my $80 that I paid and would only stay for several hours until check out since it was midnight already. STAY AWAY from this place. Most people should know to not get fooled by the pictures. I've known this and I only came here because of the price but this one is the farthest from close to how this hotel looks in person than how it looks to the pictures.

The room was dirty bugs running around room floors dirty especially in corners. Ice bucket had black car grease in it AC did not work needs recharge or replace parking is horrible I would say 8 spots total for 60 or more rooms from desk clear was horrible at check in. The beds were old and worn felt like sleeping on floor. The pictures online really fool me so don't be fooled.Make this a last option hotel.

Very clean and an excellent Asian restaurant right next door. Walking distance to California Pizza, banks, etc. The swimming pool was relatively clean for being outdoors. Forget the breakfast - very sparse with only muffins, toast, juice and coffee. Rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable.

Hotel is in avarage location. Rooms were clean and looks like they recently did renovation of bathroom. There is no self or vanity to put your stuff in bathroom, so I had to set my toiletry items up on the top of toilet tank. Never seen hotel without vanity before!! AC was enough loud to keep you up, especially when you reduce temperature for cooling your room. There are Breakfast is like no breakfast. But I understand that it is America's best value inn. Most importantly Internet was horrible. It was very slow & when I asked front desk about it, he said because lots of people on Internet right now, it is down. I guess that is how he has been trained. I tried to save money & so I should not expect better service, but I believe if you provide certain service, provide for good or do not provide at all. I am talking about an Internet, breakfast etc. there are no plug to plug your laptop or mobile or iPad charger. I had to move bed and plug behind it. So overall it was poor presentation of room. Again I accept it because it is America's best value inn. I was super late to reserve room at high scale hotel in downtown they were sold out, so I had no option.

This is a place where 50% are workers /construction get up early 5am, parking is full.
Stayed before sinks were very small, now it has been refurbised, and the sinks are pedestal over 2' wide, but no shelf place to put anything, new tile in shower/bath floors were all tile (but floor looked clean but in fact was dirty as my bare feet looked like I had walked on asphalt), bed was comfortable, but it creaked, headboard was lose, and knocked against wall, ( don't know what neighbours thought) though it was quite.
Flat TV good, A/C very good also frig microwave, no lock clasp on door, no coffee or clockradio, had iron/board. Cafe Rene Thai food ok, Philipple restrauant on N Alameda
is over rated small serving meat on a bun. Will stay again, reccomend, Anna at front desk was nice, breakfast room. Steep small driveway hard to see from street.
