“Very good.”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

Cousins recommended Hop Li and we were not disapppointed. Everyone enjoyed the ample food. Fried rice was a winner along with the all entrees. We would go there again.

“Good food, packed with locals, busy busy place”
Reviewed 2 December 2010

Been few times there, our fav was the one in Marina Del rey, but this on eis shut now, so we went in September there. Every time we visit Los Angeles we try ( and go)to go there. Food is never dissapointing, service is fine, apart from the feeling that I get( my family too) that we are being rushed in hurrying up to eat our meal....which I do not like to rush!
I always come out feeling stuffed enormously, eating too quick!

“When This One is Busy-- Find Another Chinese Retaurant In Chinatown”
Reviewed 25 December 2007

30 year customer. Good food, but the service is getting real spotty, especially under pressure. Last four visits– 50% satisfaction. When the place is busy, I suggest finding another place in Chinatown to eat. There is nothing worse than an arrogant, inattentive Chinese waiter refusing to be a waiter to spoil a meal. That said, went for lunch again. After a small wait, we were seated. Waited 20 minutes sipping tea before our order was taken– and then we were rushed by the waiter. 40 more minutes before we saw any food. Lucky it was the Cod with XO sauce– great taste and texture. Next dish– ten minutes later– was the wrong dish– supposed to be Scallops With Greens– was Scallops– minus scallops– and whatever. And the steamed rice was hard. Couldn’t complain– waiter wouldn’t look at us, let alone wait on us. Five tables– with four to five people– were brought their food before we were, and we were only two people and seated first– and I always tip 20%. Go figure! Third dish– fried oysters– didn’t see it until 90 minutes after we ordered it– just about the time we were finally ready to give up and leave. I’m used to eating Chinese food home-style, and all on the table in a timely fashion. Another waiter finally gave us our check. When corrected about entrees, the manager tried to foist the oysters off on us in an attempt to get an extra $8.95. We weren’t buying it. But boy did those oysters smell good.
