This was one of my favourite restaurants of our trip. Unpretentious and delicious food, not overblown or oversized - fresh ingredients in simple and original combinations with zesty, tasty flavours. Service was genuine and friendly, with a proper family run atmosphere and the sidecar margaritas were great. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Practically incognito in a mini-mall location, Tlapazola serves fresh, original Oaxacan-Mexican food that is unfailingly delicious. My regular dish is the Chicken Tostada. (If you ask them to hold the sour cream it's even healthier.) The other, more traditional dishes such as enchiladas, tacos and chile rellenos are "lighter" and fresher than the typical Mexican restaurant. I'd even say the chef has a bit of the gourmet in his cooking and presentation. The moles are not super heavy, but nicely flavored. They also have great margaritas! Service is friendly and efficient, but hey, I'm a regular. They know me! Try it. You can't go wrong.

This Oaxacan restaurant is the tastiest, loveliest place. They moved from a smaller place on Lincoln with the encouragement of their loyal patrons, and now they have quadrupled in size. Moles, asada, lime caper sauce on fish to die for, incredible tequila selection. Because it is so popular, the wonderful owners and waiters can no longer as long as they used to, but I'm happy for their success.

You would never guess from the look of the place on the outside, but this was the greatest dining experience we had on our entire trip. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was quick. The food was excellent. One review said that they didn't have a liquor license but we were able to get beer so that has probably changed. I would recommend this to anyone who is stuck at a hotel near LAX and needs to find some non-chain restaurant food.
