Went with a friend and I had the pizza - it was better than any pizza I had in Italy - thats for sure - place was busy - and full - service was a little slow - might pass on going back there again - or if I do might try one of the real Italian dishes - it certainly smelled great - the tables were a little close to one another - so you could not help get involved in your neighbors conversation - especially if they were arguing. I would recommend this place to anyone - just to give it a try.

Consistently for the past decade it is the best Italian in Los Angeles. It is always incredibly busy, even starting at 530pm and if you are looking for romantic decor this probably isn't your best bet. It's quite a small restaurant with a trattoria feel and your neighbors are quite close sitting next to you. Truffle pasta is outstanding, service is always fantastic and they are not pushy like Via Veneto or Giorgio Baldi. Its not overcomplicated food and for Los Angeles I think the prices are more than reasonable. Granted my children are well behaved but the restaurant is also very accommodating for little ones.

This place would be at home in any larger Italian city. With the freshness and seasonality of the menu. We had antipasti and secondi and well as wine, coffee and dessert. The freshness and generosity of the ingredients in the antipasti seemed like everything was growing or swimming this morning. For entrees we had the Porchetta and the Bransino. Porchetta was carved talble side and was filled with fresh herbs and came with mashed potatoes and pan juices poured over. Tender and succulent, YUMMY. Bransino was salt baked and cracked and boned table side. It could not have been more fresh and tasty. Dessert was cheesecake with a berry compote. This is not your new york cheescake. This was so light as to feel like it floating on your tounge. Read this - Go there and you won't be sorry! Yep, it is cramped and little loud, but that is just lots of folks knowing a good thing! Wouldn't change it if I could...

friends of us took us there and told us it was amazing! and... it was. We tried a bit of every antipasti, except Tripe and Liver, and everything was fresh, simple and truly delicious. And the came the Bombolotti all' Amatriciana. Sublime. It is not large plate, it is just the exact amount of food to make you feel good. Italian attentive service.
Only hiccup it's packed and tables are really small.

Visited this venue and its quite small. It really did seem like they are maximising their reputation on tripadvisor. We were seated at a little table, which was very close to other tables near the front of the restaurant. I prefer to have a little more room when I eat out. The service was fairly good but again nothing special. The selection of wine was good at the venue along with the menu. The food itself we both felt was average and not what we had anticipated. Overall a little bit of a let down.
