We went there for food after walking along sunset and wanting something fresher, non fried and a bit healthier!
It looked to be a popular restaurant with a nice outside dining area to and the welcoming staff member outside told us to choose a table and he would follow us. We choose one and then waited 10mins for anyone to come ask us if we wanted drinks and a menu.
We chose two steaks (myself a rib eye cooked pink and my husband a filet mignon cooked medium rare) and also a bottle of wine. The order was taken and a man came round with some bread which was nice as we hadn't chosen a starter
We then proceeded to wait 45mins for two steaks that should've roughly taken 15-20mins max so much so that the waiter noticed and went to enquire about them
What arrived was not pleasant.
My steak was definitely not a rib eye,it didn't have the distinctive marbling in the meat and had a layer of fat round the outside,it was more like a rump steak. It was so overcooked it was hard to eat but the accompanying vegetables were nice. My husbands filet was cooked pink and his gratin side dish was nice, the best thing about the main was a lovely French Merlot
After we had finished we were asked if we would like the chocolate flour less cake for dessert but I had asked for the menu as there was an apple dessert I fancied trying.we were told that there was only the choc flour less cake available so we tried that- the ice cream was the nicest part of the dish
We parted with our $120 for a meal that when we enquired about changing mine was told that it was a rib eye ( definitely wasn't as we were watching the other plates come out and they had the distinctive bone in them) and I had asked for it cooked and the chef wouldn't change it
Avoid this place as we got the distinct feeling that because we were tourists we were fobbed off with less than average dishes compared to what else was coming out

My wife and I chose this over the other restaurants in the Sunset Plaza because we liked some of the items on the menu better than the others, though I noticed the prices were a bit more.

Overall the food was good and the service was fine. I had the Seafood Fettuccine and my wife had the Chicken Piccata. Her piccata sauce was a dark brown and not very lemony, so I'm not sure if this was some "french" version as the restaurant is supposed to be French, but seemed more Italian.

I thought the prices were well over what they should be, but I guess if you're going to dine at a sidewalk cafe in West Hollywood, it's to be expected.

The highlight of the meal was my the strawberry infused sparkling red wine that my wife ordered. I could have sat there and drank those all day.

There is free parking in the back as long as you do not leave the Sunset Plaza.

It should have been a sign when we arrived for our reservation and saw that all the adjacent restaurants were packed and ours was sparsely populated.
The waiter was very pleasant and the menu was extensive. We had an aperitif ( my kit royale was way too sweet but that's a meter of preference ) and ordered soup and a main course. The French onion soup was very sweet but still tasty. The seafood chowder was like milk with some clams and carrots. Not awful, but nothing you couldn't find at any diner in half the country. My husband's steak was a good quality meat but it was a little over cooked ( more medium than medium rare). I got the seafood fettuccine. The description didn't say that it was in an Alfredo sauce but it was, a really, really rich sauce. No one has ever accused me of being a light eater but I couldn't eat more than four bites. It was straight up butter and cheese but without much depth of flavor. I brought the leftovers home for the 12 year old who loves pasta but she only had about five bites before saying " I'm too full".
While we were eating there was a gentleman sitting at a table drinking coffee and offering commentary to the wait staff. Apparently he is the owner. He didn't engage with any of the customers, which certainly isn't necessary but seems like it might be good business.
It wasn't bad; it wasn't good.

We’ve eaten here many times over the last year with a noticeable and repetitive decline in quality each time. The café sits right on the famed Sunset Strip adjacent to a few others sharing this more endearing attribute of a great location for people watching and dining al fresco. Beyond this, they just refuse to insure that even the simplest foods like Eggs Benedict are served hot, let alone warm. This last visit, four times in a row the three of us specified that we wanted everything hot, including the hollandaise sauce, which we also requested on the side, and every time they delivered it on an icy cold plate and with equally cold sauce. Our complaints led only to ridiculous responses purportedly from the chef, who allegedly cannot make the sauce hotter because the butter will separate. Even if true, they refused to do what we asked and clearly don’t care to oblige the ones holding the purse strings, who, as I’m sure you can guess, have decided to spend our money elsewhere. au revoir!

We were recommended this restaurant, so were looking forward to the food. Firstly, was given a basic menu card, where other clientele were given a full hard back version, secondly, our finished dinner plates were being whipped away quick, when other people in our party were still eating and thirdly, we were not even offered dessert, just asked if we wanted coffee. We had come all the way from England and was not impressesd by the service, though food was good!
