Didn't eat sushi...until I came here. Everything we had was amazing, I couldn't believe it! Highly recommended. We tried various salmon, fish from japan, guspacho (sp) was to die for. The people I went with know their sushi and said it is the best around. I believe them!

“Excellence in small packages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Do not be put off by this very small, but outstanding sushi restaurant in the Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles. If you want authentic sushi and not the yuppie creations so popular today, Toshi's is the place. With a small sushi bar, one master chef, maybe eight tables, one server and a cook in the back, it is easy to overlook this gem. Toshi, the master chef, uses only the freshest ingredients in his artful creations. For those adventurers, there are combination meals that are excellent. For the knowledgeable, pick and choose from the sushi list. For the unitiated, ask the server for suggestions. Remember that sushi and sashimi are not synonymous. If you must avoid the uncooked fish delicacies, there are plenty of vegetable combinations or California roll that are superb.

When visiting Los Angeles, I combine the Miyako Hotel, the Japanese American National Museum, the Go For Broke Memoria and Toshi's. If I have not had at least one meal at Toshi's, my trip has not been complete.
