We saw Charlie's featured on the TV show "Burger Land" and thought we'd try it, which we did, and were disappointed. The burger was average and plain tasting as was the roll. The woman at the counter was really nice and she rates 5 stars, but we'd not go back for the burger. I'm told the breakfast there is excellent. Orders are taken at the counter and food picked up when your name is called. Market parking is validated for 2 hours with a receipt from any vendor.
Charlie's is just one of many eateries and food vendors inside of the Original Farmer's Market in Los Angeles and the market overall is definitely worth the trip. The "market" is a massive building of the old industrial smokestack era; it has a cool ambiance of its own but is not the sort of place one takes a date for a quiet dinner in a dimly lit romantic hideaway.
