We went there early about 9:30am was empty we question is this is the place we went 10 years ago and was pack, we start with a walk and about 10:30 am the place start looking busy we decide to do what people was doing buy your fish an then take to prepare in another station for the same price we added to our shrimp and scallops potatos and onions and pepper the fish is pricey and then we buy a picher of beer whe pick our food and was a lot mean a lot we have a good time and spend about 100 dlls for two .
When we live around 1:00 pm the line for the fish was around the corner and very hard to find parking they are people walking from far parking.

First off, the food is very good for the most part, and the selection is good too. But there are a couple things on this menu that are GREAT.
Try the shrimp fajitas and the clam chowder. Seriously good stuff!
Also, note you can have whatever level of "experience" you would like depending on the day/time of the week and time of year.
The outside is absolutely nuts on the weekend, especially if the weather is nice, which this is So Cal, so the weather is usually nice. It's crazy crowded, loud, mariachis, the whole 9 yards, like attending a festival in Mexico or something.
But if you want to have a fairly quiet meal, eat inside, which is what we normally do, just because have kids, and they are easier to handle inside, as well as we can hear each other talk. The inside is usually empty unless it's lunchtime for some reason.
There is a lot to look at, with Ports O Call right there, and huge container ships cruising by.
This really is a fun place to take the family.
Just be prepared that there is a little bit of everything there. It's not super clean outside either, so if you want clean, eat inside.
The other thing is they only have bathrooms in one spot that is totally accessible to like everyone at Ports O Call, so the bathrooms usually have a huge line and are gross! I really dislike that, but until they have private restrooms for restaurant patrons only, we are all gonna be stuck with that.
If you have kids, make sure you take them to see the tanks with the crabs in them, that is super fun too!

Don't come here with any pretentious ideas! It is like Tijuana in the old days. It's good value, noisy, dirty but the food is fresh, bountiful and tasty! It draws a huge hispanic crowd on Sundays many families and seating is difficult. Take a trip around the harbor after a drink and bite to eat- good value.

Once again this is a down to earth portside eatery!

Visited for the first time and was not impressed. Wasn't really sure how it "worked" so we ordered a beer with fish and chips. Not certain what kind of fish it was, but it tasted very muddy. It was served with condiments in little packets. For the price, I was really disappointed.

Everyone around us seemed to be buying fish and shrimp then having it cooked to order. Maybe we should have done that too.

Most of the seating is outside and it was a mess with trash and birds everywhere. On top of it all, there was a security guard patrolling the patio!? Weird.

Sorry, won't be back.

We were taken here by friends living in Long Beach. Atmosphere wonderful as they had a roving Mariachi Band playing-could have been in Mexico. Place was extremely busy and the seafood okay.
