“Tasty and fresh seafood (but not the cleanest restaurant)”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

If you're squeamish about cleanliness or loud, bustling noise/activities while you eat, then this place isn't for you. But if you're willing to overlook a few things to get fresh and tasty shrimp, then you've found the right place. You order your uncooked/fresh seafood by the pound (snow crabs, lobsters, scallops, oysters, several types of shrimp, several types of fish) along with vegetables, potatoes, garlic bread, and any other fixings. (Prices are not cheap so be forewarned!) Then you take your seafood (in bags) to the kitchen on the other side, they'll cook it for you, and you pick it up to go or eat there.

Tips: (1) Half pound of shrimp + full order of vegetables and potatoes + 1 order of garlic bread = PLENTY for two people. (2) Crabs are mostly thawed stuff so not the freshest of the offerings - stick with shrimp. (3) Shrimp with heads are the cheapest but also the messiest. (4) Seating area has view of industrial shipping channel/dock - nothing romantic or scenic. Plus the tables and floorboards are old and creaky and pretty dirty - again if you're squeamish, don't come. (5) Food is served in plastic trays like at a fast food place, laid out on parchment paper, a big mound of food depending on what you ordered. Be prepared to eat with your hands. (6) Weekends can get packed with families and mariachi bands and screaming kids. It's pretty quiet on weekdays.

“Great seafood”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Stopped one night in San Pedro on our way back from a cruise. Had heard good reports about this place so had to try it. Agree with all the good reviews. Good place to people watch, great sea views and wonderfully fresh seafood. Yummy

“Delicious fresh seafood overlooking the sea”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

This was a FUN place for fresh seafood and people watching. The mariachis showed up and it was definitely like being in Mexico which we both enjoyed. The food is NOT cheap by any means so make sure you know that before you go...this is not a budget place. The sizes of the food plates is big so I'd recommend going there with 4 people or more so you can sample different food as it's a lot of food for just one or two people. After we ate here we walked by the other restaurants and they were packed. Walking along the water & going through the stores after the big meal helped "walk off" some of that delicious food. Overall a very nice way to spend an afternoon.

“Nice little-known excursion a seafood eater must”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

We went for sentimental but it never gets old if you love seafood sameday fresh you pick it they cook it. Cargo tankers just cruise right by you maybe 200 yards your not too far from Uss Iowa and harbor cruise available in the end it's kinda pricey put worth it. Kids lifetime memories

“It takes me back to Tijuana”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

What can I say...other than on a Saturday late afternoon; it's busy, crowded, loud, actually pretty clean, and there's a fishy smell in the air...but oh how good the Salmon and Red Snapper (pic. included) was Sooo tasty and greasy. It's crowded and loud because they do Karaoke there in the large outdoor eating area. So, if U want the real experience of having fresh seafood selected by U, cooked by the line-cooks, and then eating it while being able to see the ships come in or out of the Port, this is the place for U. I love that there are so many families and people in general enjoying themselves..and that part takes me back to Tijuana, Rosarita, Livingston, Belize and so many seaside cities!
