I was there for Dim Song on a business trip with several clients. The place was well attended but able to get a seat. The service was impeccable and very fast – because it is Dim Song. They serve you from carts around the dining area. Grill by your table, hot from the cart items, cold carts and dessert carts. We had more then we could easily eat, quality was great and a fun experience.

Three families visiting the LA area looking for Dim Sum - we wanted some dim sum in the Chinatown area and decided to give the place a try despite its weak reviews. What drew us is the private parking lot. Be patient, but there is free parking. We met up at around 11:45. The restaurant was full, but the wait was short. Eight of us squeezed into a small round table. This is not fancy dim sum, but definitely OK for the price. We rolled out of there for approximate $120 including tax and tip and a doggie bag. We did not skimp on the orders. We had some of the specialty dishes such as the roast pig with crispy skin - good but skin was a bit chewy. The jumbo salt and pepper prawns - every enjoyed that. We ordered a huge plate of Chinese broccoli - fresh and hot. The house Hong Kong style noodles was a huge hit - crispy noodles topped with a sauce that included a medley of seafood chunks. Very good steamed tripe - tender and flavorful. Another version of beef tripe came stewed and topped by pork blood curds was excellent (sorry if I'm freaking you out, but this a a favorite for Chinese dim sum aficionados.) My two nieces loved the steam baos, one with the custard filling and another with lotus seed paste filling. These were definitely a two thumbs up - not too doughy with lots of filling. I can't remember all the dishes that we had, but most are hits and there were only a few misses.

Service was better than most other restaurants. They kept the tea pots filled, exchanged old plates for new when requested, brought water when requested and took over empty plates. We were able to flag down staff for additional orders and other requests.

Of course, this is not comparable to those dim sum places with the hour long waits. But if you crave dim sum without the lines and hassles, this place will do. Sorry, I have no idea what the place is like for Sunday dim sum.

This is our first visit to CBS seafood. We went at lunch time and the place was packed yet we were seated within a few minutes. Almost immediately a cart was next to,our table with the lady offering us about six differnt items to choice from. The carts were moving at an average pace around the restaurant each with differnt items to select. The food was very good and reasonable priced. We had five items with final cost being $13 where can you get a very food lunch for two at this price. Despite some tof the other reviews our experience was very nice.

This restaurant, a former favorite, is really getting bad. The food is marginal and the quality is lacking. We were served dried out dumplings and sticky rice that tasted like just plain rice. That was when we could get served. The servers walked right past us three times - - I hope it wasn't because of our ethnicity- - and we finally had to yell across the restaurant to actually get anyone to serve us. The wait staff was just TERRIBLE. Attitude, awful service, and bad food. Never going here again.

This was my first time here, we arrived at noon on a Friday. Surprisingly, the place was already over halfway full.

What we ordered: pan seared dumplings, shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns (siopao), pork spare ribs, shrimp rice noodle, beef rice noodle, crab balls (with claw attached), shumai, egg custard, mango pudding.

The dimsum is relatively cheap, with most dishes costing $2.10-$3.00 each. The crab balls were $9.50 (the most expensive item on the dimsum menu), but they were worth it (large portion size and yummy).

We made it back to our car in less than 40 minutes from arrival (which is pretty good for DTLA lunch time!).

The waiters were attentive in getting us more tea, and bring us whatever we asked for (red vinegar, ice water, etc.). The servers were also able to get us whatever we wanted (that wasn't on the cart) very quickly!

They also have a sort of express mini shop connected to it, where they have dim-sum and other chinese regular chinese food to go (peking duck, steamed chicken, etc.).

Glad to have found a new dimsum place close to work, we will definitely be back.
