“I found a cockroach”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The smell in the whole place is just nasty. When my family and I found a cockroach in our room, the manager said he always sees them, and it's fine. I would never recommend staying here. And the bathrooms look like they've never been clean. The pictures on there website look nothing like the place. Stay somewhere else!

We are a family of 3 adults and we stayed at the Valley Inn in June 2014. It is well-located with shops, petrol stations, supermarket, ATM within 30 seconds' drive from the Inn. The hotel itself is in Mission Hills which is about 20 minutes' drive north of Beverly Hills / Westwood. There is a big pool which is deep enough as well. The breakfast is basic but will fill an empty stomach (self-made waffles, tea, coffee, cereal, bread, bagels, mini-muffins). The receptionist was courteous and there is always someone there 24/7. The Inn (I believe) is run by an Indian family and they seemed to run it pretty efficiently.

There is free wifi in the Inn and there are enough TV channels for you (there was World Cup 2014 coverage in Spanish).

The room was of a decent size. We had originally booked a double queen bedroom but due to availability, we were given a King size bed plus an extra foldaway bed. The water from the shower had hot water 24/7, The parking lot is big enough for around 40 cars.

The only down side I would say is that the carpet and the curtains were rather old and dirty but we simply wore slippers around and avoided as much contact with our bare feet.

We paid US$79 including taxes per night. We had originally booked through a UK website (Ebookers) for £57 for the first night but we extended our stay for 2 nights with the receptionist and it was cheaper by about £10 per night by doing it with the front desk and not with the website.

I would definitely recommend guests to stay here though I would also hope that the owners would replace the old shabby carpet with laminate flooring!

You`re never to far away from the city center, or whatever you feel like doing that day. All the attractions are close. The people at the hotel mostly sticked to themselves, but helpful if you cared to ask. The breakfast was a bit simple, so we usually just went to eat somewhere else.
The hotel may be a bit old fashioned, but you can`t really complain. Shower temperature was cold, but it was OK. The pool was perfect, and you can`t really complain about this hotel

Booked for 2 nights online and stayed 2 additional nights because my target features were satisfied: Smoking room, balcony, pool, breakfast, secure and quiet, close enough to vacation sites, fridge, safe parking. Older 2 story U shaped motel with a good swimming pool and green area in the middle. Better than average breakfast with waffle maker and boiled eggs. Security gate card swipe and full time officer on site seemed to keep the trouble out and we had no issues with other guests being loud. Large room with 2 queen beds, cold fridge froze the beer, balcony or patio faced toward the middle area and they cleaned and replaced towels everyday. There are dozens of old school motels up and down Sepulveda Blvd, not listed on hotels.com probably cheaper than the $79 with tax paid here, but looked a lot worse than this place. The area is ok, but nowhere near high class. Liquor store, 7 Eleven and several bars and restaurants were less than 2 blocks away. We had no problem getting on/off the nearby freeways, I-5 and I-405. Only 10 miles to 6 Flags Magic Mountain and 20 miles to Hollywood, traffic determines drive times. As usual, picky people who are easily scared should pay more and stay elsewhere. Myself and fellow traveler were just fine with this motel.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room for the private balcony, ask for a fridge, and check the tv remote

Please DO NOT stay here! The hotel is old, run down and is in a very unsafe area! I purchased two rooms, one for myself and two sons and the other for my retired parents. We were going to UCLA for a tour. It took us such a long time with traffic to just get out of this place. Thank goodness it was only for a night! Spend an extra couple of bucks and find somewhere else to stay!!

Room Tip: There are NO good rooms!

This motel is convenient located. In the weekend we drove in under 20mins to Hollywood. The room was big and had all the appliances. They were in need of some TLC though. The tv showed non existing colors and the water in the bath was always running. The breakfast is good with 2 diy waffle irons and more. Can be busy though. We were in the other building and could park on a closed and secured lot for free. Check out the safari room and presidente restaurants as well.

Waited 45 min. for room to finish being cleaned just to find out people were already in it, says heated pool...nope! ice cold. egg breakfast? maybe if you like hard boiled eggs for breakfast. room key kept being deactivated, bath tub was disgusting, toilet paper so thin you can see through it, had to slam the door for it to shut, was to scared to go outside with my kids with all the men hanging around drinking beer yelling the "N" word to each other. The description for this place is NOTHING like what they actually have. For 100 dollars a night I would expect a little better or at least some truth to what you advertise the heated pool and breakfast is what attracted me there and we got none of that!

Room Tip: TIP: DO NOT STAY HERE Motel 6 does better then this
