A colleague recommended this B and B and we could not believe a place so beautiful, situated on a bird sanctuary was so close to LAX!! The Inn is lovely with gas fireplaces in the main and breakfast rooms, with lots of binos and telescopes to watch the birds. They have a wine and cheese hour every night so it's a great time to meet people who come from everywhere and have great stories. The Inn is close to an array of fun restaurants and 3 blocks from the beach-we took the Inn's bikes out and rode the bike path up to Marina Del Rey and it was a lovely little jaunt. The rooms are pretty and well appointed, the breakfast food homemade and delicious and the staff very very knowledgable--they know everything--and so helpful. This is a fabulous place to stay outside of LA and it's easy to get into the city by car.

If you've read the other reviews you'll know this is a great spot to stay especially if you need somewhere close to the airport. I didn't quite get it, how could somewhere so close not be interrupted by planes every few minutes? I think it's because the planes come in from east to west and the Inn is slightly north.

Great things about the Inn at Playa Del Rey:

1) Smell of cookies when you walk in.
2) Friendliness of staff
3) Location to the beach and airport
4) It's quiet
5) Rooms are spacious, clean and modern.
6) Parking is free

Feels like a big New England house and the main 'living room' looks out over the wetlands. There's free tea and coffee all day and the staff put on wine and tit bits early evening for guests.

Downsides - can't think of any. It's quite expensive for a B&B but who am I kidding, it's a great place to stay.

Room Tip: If your budget will stretch, go for a room that looks out over the wetlands they are pretty spectacular.

My flight schedule demanded that I overnight in LA prior to a long transoceanic flight. I initially considered just staying at an airport hotel, but couldn't find anything with consistently "positive" reviews. I happened upon this B&B rather by accident on the tripadvisor site. I thought "what the heck". I am very happy that I chose to stay there. It is only 10 minutes from LAX by cab (during traffic even). The hotel is very cute, clean and quiet. If you are looking for Las Vegas style extravagance, then don't stay in a B&B. This establishment feels like a classy visit to your wealthy friends cottage house near the beach. My room was large and clean. The breakfast with tasty and fresh. I will stay there again.

Numerous restaurants are within a short walk (1-5 minutes) of the hotel. I enjoyed top rate Italian at a family style restaurant two short blocks away. I will stay at the Inn, and enjoy the neighborhood before my next trip out of LAX!

Room Tip: Third (top) floor room was quiet.

I've never slept in such a confortable bed, everything is perfect, the breakfast is delicious with homemade cakes, it looks libe being home.
You're close to Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills...even if you absolutly need a car there (anyway you need a car in LA).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the park of course !

Even though it's only 3 miles from LAX, you'd think of truly pacifiic moods and you would think you were in the middle of a nature. I spotted one egret and two fish hawks. Mind bending breakfast-and bicycle lending

Room Tip: any room overlooking the wetlands
